September represented another massive win for Republicans over Democrats in Florida. The Republican advantage over Democrats now stands at a record 1,404,112. That total includes a net change of 16,657 voters in October.

hat’s true of the partial government shutdown as it’s now on its 43rd day. That’s appearing to be true as far as the political career of the shutdown architect, it’s looking worse for that guy by the day.

There’s no direct savings that’s guaranteed to consumers, although if businesses were to pass on merchant fee savings the average family (household) would expect to see savings averaging $154 per year.   

This story will be updated as he issues them. As of November 12th, he’s signed 212 executive orders compared to 220 signed during the entirety of his first administration and 162 signed by President Biden during his administration. Additionally, President Trump has signed 102 presidential proclamations, 57 presidential memoranda and 9 laws.

Today is day 42 of the partial government shutdown, what’s now the longest in American history by a full week. It’s also the 42nd day you still likely haven’t been impacted by the shutdown in anyway. Congratulations for having survived for six full weeks without 34% of the federal government operating.

On balance there appears to be a bit of an information disconnect about this recently enacted state law. In 2023, prior to the passage of the legislation, 51% of Florida’s renters surveyed said they would opt for a reasonable non-refundable fee given the opportunity as 72% of renters said they struggled to come up with the needed money for first, last and a security deposit.
