The Biblical Anarchy Podcast was created by Jacob Winograd as a project of the Libertarian Christian Institute, with the purpose of making the case for a free society and decentralized governance based on Biblical principles of limited authority and imitating Christ’s example of the leader/servant. If we render unto God what is God’s, we cannot bow down to Caesar or render anything unto him except that which he deserves. The podcast consists of exploring different Bible passages, anarchist theory, Austrian Economics, and finding the connection and harmony between them. The Biblical Anarchy Pod...

Ep. 39: What Does the Christian Religion Teach About Politics? Why I'm Not an Anarchist 08.11.2023

In my time podcasting, I've often had people respond to the ideas and arguments I discuss on my show with agreement to the content, but a disdain for the term "anarchy". So, why do I use that word? Do I consider myself to be an anarchist? Well, the truth is, no - I am not an anarchist. But, I use that term for a reason. In this episode, I dive into the history of the development of my platform and...

Ep. 38: Politicians Blinded to Blowback: Debunking the Israel War Propaganda 01.11.2023

War has broken out in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. Innocent lives have been lost, both Israelis and Palestinians. War brings out the worst of humanity, as we see people on both sides engage in collectivism and escalation of violence. War also brings to the surface debates over history and current events, and each side has their own narrative. But what is the truth?   Did Hamas just randomly deci...

Ep. 37: The Gospel's Revolutionary Message of Peace: A Resolution to End War 18.10.2023

The recent events in Israel have added to an already heated discussion around US foreign policy and war. Hamas committed evil atrocities when they launched a deadly attack on Israel on October 7th, 2023. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the country is now at war, and cut off electricity and utilities to Gaza. They gave notice to northern Gaza telling them to evacuate as Israel pr...

I interviewed Dr. Michael Rectenwald in this episode. Dr. Rectenwald is the author of twelve books, including "The Great Reset and the Struggle for Liberty: Unraveling the Global Agenda", and is a distinguished fellow at Hillsdale College and a frequent contributor to the Mises Institute. He was a Professor of Liberal Studies and Global Liberal Studies at NYU from 2008 to 2019. He also taught at D...

Ep. 35: What Does Romans 13 Teach Us About Earthly Powers? 20.09.2023

In this episode, I dive into Romans 13 again. I read the passage and summarize the interpretation I and other reformed libertarians have of it. Then the bulk of this episode deals with an alternative take of Romans 13 that other Christians, including (but not exclusively) some Christian anarchists, have of the passage. While I don't entirely agree with this take, as it's often used as an exhaustiv...

In this episode, we have my last Freedom Fest 2023 interview. This conversation was with Caryn Ann Harlos, Secretary for the LNC and host of the Pink Flame of Liberty Podcast. Ep. 32: Exposing the Theological Lies and Logical Failures of Christian Nationalism, w/ Alex Bernardo 23.08.2023

In this episode, I had a conversation with Alex Bernardo of the Protestant Libertarian Podcast, a fellow LCI host. Alex has written a review of Stephen Wolfe's "The Case for Christian Nationalism" and presented his rebuttals in an article for LCI as well as a presentation he recorded for us to present at Freedom Fest this past year. After I finished the book myself and read Alex's review, we decid...

Ep. 30: Breaking Barriers: Uniting Atheists and Christians through Libertarian Activism, w/ AFL President Thomas Sheedy 09.08.2023

In this episode, we are again airing an interview I did at the 2023 Freedom Fest convention. This interview was with Atheists for Liberty President Thomas Sheedy. He and I had never spoken before but were both excited to sit down and talk, to explore what we had in common, and to explore where we disagreed as well. We found that many of the criticisms we had about each other's worldview were at le...

Spike sat down with me...

In this episode you will hear three different interviews I did at the 2023 Freedom Fest Convention in Memphis, Tennessee. I sat down with Scott Horton, Kyle Anzalone, and Connor Freeman of the Libertarian Institute to pick their brains about what's going on with both Russia and China, and what the imperialistic goals are of the American government and military industrial complex in these still dev...

Ep. 27: Understanding Consent: Does Democracy Make Good What the Bible Calls Evil? 05.07.2023

A common defense of the State and its authority or ability to tax comes in the form of using democracy as a sort of “cure-all” that re-frames aspects of the State that are not consensual or that are backed by force/coercion to be morally permissible. Is this philosophically sound? In this episode, we continue to engage with the Open AI software to explore logical fallacies in arguments made to def...

Ep. 26: Why the State Does Not Protect Property Rights - Debate with Open AI 21.06.2023

In this episode, we go back to interacting with Open AI's ChatGPT to explore the relationship between the State and property rights. Does the State exist to protect rights? What about the nature of the State is in conflict with property rights, and what do both the Bible and libertarian/anarchist political theory teach us is normative about property rights? The Biblical Anarchy Podcast ( https://B...

In this episode, I revisit a conversation I had with Greg Baus, fellow LCI and Christians For Liberty Network Podcast Host, on the topic of Sphere Sovereignty, which is a Reformed concept that deals with how God has ordered Creation, and how different types of human authority are to interact with each other. The Biblical Anarchy Podcast ( https://BiblicalAnarchyPodcast.com ) is part of the Christi...

In this episode, I am joined by LNC Chair Angela McArdle. Angela catches us up on the past year of changes and activism in the Libertarian Party, and we also discuss the nature of bold and radical styles vs more pragmatic styles of messaging and outreach from both Christian and libertarian perspectives.  The Biblical Anarchy Podcast ( https://BiblicalAnarchyPodcast.com ) is part of the Christians...

Ep. 23: Honor the Emperor: Does 1 Peter 2 Require Christians to Pledge Allegiance to the State? 10.05.2023

Romans 13 has often been cited to support the State, but it's not the only passage that talks about submission to governing authorities. In this episode, I dive into the passage in 1 Peter 2 in which we are told to honor the emperor. What does it mean to give honor, and is honor always the same regardless of the person? Is this passage a rebuttal to libertarian anarchism, or does it have more to d...

Ep. 22: Dave Smith On Dispelling Lies with Biblical Love, Truth, and Peaceful Parenting 03.05.2023

What is the relationship between the State and our current upside-down culture? How do we raise the next generation to make a more free future? Comedy and podcasting powerhouse Dave Smith joins me to discuss these issues. Dave went from atheist to a believer in God, and Dave uses his personal experience and insight to explore how we can set order to the chaos the State brings by trusting in the po...

In this episode, you get to hear an interview of me on John Odermatt's Finding Freedom Podcast, part of the Lions of Liberty podcast network. We talked about Romans 13 and how it isn't descriptive of the State, but prescriptive of the Biblical norms of civil governance and justice. We also talked about other objections to Christian Anarchism and why the connection of Christianity to libertarianism...

Ep. 20: Be Strong and Courageous: Taking Responsibility for Our Freedom and Our Mistakes 12.04.2023

In this episode, I react to the speeches and conversations I had at the Take Human Action Tour event I attended with LCI in NY on April 1. The common theme of the event was no one is coming to save us, we have to take responsibility for our own futures. That also means we have to take responsibility for our mistakes, and we have to be courageous and tell the truth, no matter the cost. Additional R...

Ep. 19: A Poly-Centric Legal Order: Open AI Makes the Case for Biblical Anarchy 05.04.2023

In this episode, I debated the Chat GPT Open AI on whether the Bible can make a case for anarchy/a poly-centric legal order. Using a Socratic approach, I managed to convince the AI that not only would an anarchist legal order be compatible with what the Bible teaches, but that such a legal order would probably be superior in many ways to the one we have today in our society. The Biblical Anarchy P...

Ep. 18: How Christianity Can Lead to a Libertarian Culture, with Michael Heise 29.03.2023

In this episode, I was joined by Michael Heise, chair and founder of the LP Mises Caucus. We had a conversation about the overlap between Christian philosophy and archetypes, and the necessity to start a libertarian shift in the culture by starting first individually, and then working locally through our communities and out into the world. Michael also talked about the upcoming Take Human Action t...

Ep. 17: Ruthless Imperialism: The Rise And Fall of American Dominance, with Scott Horton 22.03.2023

Scott breaks down the history of US imperialism leading up to the current Russia/Ukraine conflict. We discuss how propaganda, often targeted at being a good Christian or Patriot, is used to sell these wars, and that at some point the evidence points towards America, the government and nation not being the shining city on the hill that it claims to be. Peace doesn't mean submission to tyranny, and...

Ep. 16: Overcoming Hate with Love: How Matt Walsh is Distorting the Gospel, with Torren Danowski 15.03.2023

In this episode, I have a conversation with Torren Danowski, founder of Don't Tread on Philly. Torren is a Christian who has gone through a journey through his struggle with gender dysphoria, which led him to, at one point in the past, live as a transgender woman. Torren shares his testimony and perspective, and then we dive into the current political landscape to explore where many conservative p...
