Worship is not a song. It is not a portion of a service. Worship is living our lives in awe of God, acknowledging Him in all of life. God will be magnified whether or not we choose to magnify Him. When we minimize God or choose to live in sin, he will still be magnified. Have you ever fasted? Sometimes we can miss a mighty movement of God in our lives is we forsake fasting and praying. When we find ourselves in desperate times, fasting and praying is about humbling ourselves before God so we can seek Him more fervently. In a world that does not have God's word as its authority, God's word can be perverted. But twisting God's word for our own purposes only leaves us twisted ourselves. Legalism and liberalism can hinder evangelistic efforts. But when the church is biblical and avoids these extremes, the church will be strengthened as it walks in truth. "Don't pray for patience," people advise. Yet patience is part of what we are called to in Christ. When we wait on God, we will never be disappointed. When we are attacked and feel unseen, God always sees, and He is always for us. We prevail over our enemies and our circumstances by placing our hope in Christ's rescue, strength, and grace. Sometimes we can live this life as if it will never end, but how we live our days will be apparent on the Day of the LORD. Live for that day. When we serve God, people will come against us. But when God's people are separated for the work of God yet united in that work, greater is He that is in them than any obstacle in this world. Warfare abounds all around us, but we don't have to fear. In the battles we fight in this life God wants to fight on our behalf and save us. Every parent knows what it is like to call their kids and they don't respond. But the calling of God on our lives is too great to dismiss. Being impulsive can get us into a lot of trouble. Especially in the presence of God. We all want joy, but the path to get there might not be so coveted. We would not experience joy if we had not first experienced joyless times. A branch on its own cannot survive and begins to die. But a branch connected to the vine is alive. So it is with us. Love in this world does not last forever, but God's love does. Think about that. He will never stop loving you. Our hands are vessels for serving God and others. Our hands give from what they have been given. We cannot avoid conflict for long. But when it is in our power to do so, healthy conflict avoidance is not a bad thing when the goal is God's glory. Have you received the good news? The best news of all? Hearing the good news is one thing, but receiving it is quite another and it transforms our lives. Time is a commodity that evaporates the moment we are given it. Make the most of the time you are given. Being angry is often associated with sin. But God's anger with His people was about their waywardness that caused them to sin and turn from Him.
