Sometimes the thought of knowing God can be intimidating. I mean, He knows everything about us. And He is Holy. But God has helped us to know Him by His name. Sometimes we can grow so comfortable with the "gods" of the surrounding culture that we live with them and start to adapt to the world's ways rather than God's. When we don't remember what God has done for us, we can stray. Reflecting on the things we take for granted like breathing, walking, living, can help to cultivate gratitude. Comparison. Yuck! More problems arise from comparing to others. Shame is born there. So is covetousness and jealousy. Today it has become popular and even sounds like someone is highly educated to say they are atheist or agnostic. But the reality is that it takes more faith to deny God's existence than to believe in Him. Partial obedience is not truly obedience. Sometimes I will ask my children to do a chore and I can tell when they don't want to. They do it halfway.
