Denominational differences can divide us, but sound doctrine should unite us. Doctrine matters. It instructs how we apply God's word to our lives. But doctrine was not meant to be divisive. It can be tempting to try to find joy in temporary things. We have this hole in our hearts that longs to be filled and can be addicted to temporary joys. Do we recognize danger? Sure, we might be able to spot obvious danger. But recognizing spiritual danger and avoiding it has eternal significance. Sometimes we just ache to get to a place where we don't issues and problems, right? We can be in pursuit of blessing when the greatest blessing has already been received: Our salvation. Sometimes we can be tempted to look at people as the enemy. But let's be clear. We all have an enemy. One enemy. It is Satan. And he uses many people to do his work. Owning up to our sin is hard to do. We can want to deny it, cover it up, or rationalize conviction away. But when we own up to our sin, we are set free from within. Bible Reading: Numbers 21-24 Scripture Verse of the Day: Numbers 21:7

Is fear real? It feels real, but it is often irrational and based on presumption. The truth is that there is a greater fear that sets us free from all fears: the fear of God. God is in complete control and no matter what fears we have in this life, every fear bows before God who sees us, is with us, and in us. When we approve of things God doesn't, we might just find ourselves reproved. Guard your hearts. Guard your eye gate and ear gate.
