Jude warns that "certain men" have "slipped in among you". This letter is about people who look good and do Christian things, but are rotten from the inside out with false motives and plans. The Cain & Abel story plays itself out again in this chapter in the wrestle that was taking place between Jews who rejected Jesus and the Jews who accepted him. In this chapter Peter talks about marriage, including how wives can win their husbands over to the Lord without speaking a word. He also addresses the attitude of husbands in marriage, and how it short circuits prayer if they are not careful. The tongue is a weapon which causes terrible damange to lives and relationships and starts wars. The tongue also heals, soothes and brings life to others. We now come to a letter in the Bible by the brother of Jesus, James, who was also the leader of the Christians in Jerusalem. Life was difficult for many early believers, but James tells them to consider their struggles as pure joy. What about you and your struggles?
