Republic Pictures took over the franchise for a bit starting here, in California, with another cursed item entry. We also discuss the lack of time travel and real time horror films.

The first of the series to not show the original house in any way, also the first to go straight to video. We discuss other straight to video movies before diving in on this murder mystery type cursed cabinet haunted house monastery sorta thing. And a thing it certainly is.

In a follow up that sets the bar high for all of the sequels to follow, things get crazy then straight up unhinged. While billed as a sequel, it also serves as a prequel, but in ways that negate the concept of continuity. Before the film, Tom and Pat discuss other prequels.

The first stop on our repeated trip to 112 Ocean Avenue is the original movie that sort of interpreted a book loosely based on some conflicting accounts and launched a legendarily long film franchise!
