Many believers live with anxiety not because God withholds peace, but because we haven’t learned to walk closely with the One who gives it. Jesus doesn’t offer temporary calm; He offers lasting wholeness.

Technology isn’t evil; it’s powerful. Like fire, it can warm or it can burn. Used wisely, it can multiply your impact for the Kingdom; used carelessly, it can master your soul.

We’ve grown comfortable throwing words online and uncomfortable looking people in the eye. But true love doesn’t hide behind screens. The most Christ-like conversations happen not in comment sections but in gracious conversations.

In a world where everyone’s looking down, the most radical thing you can do is look up. Giving someone your full attention is one of the rarest spiritual gifts in our distracted age. Nothing reflects Jesus more than your undivided attention.

We live in an always-on world where every vibration feels like a summons and every alert feels urgent. But constant urgency doesn’t lead to greater faithfulness; it leads to exhaustion. If the devil can’t make you bad, he’ll make you busy.

Your phone is shaping you. Every buzz, swipe, and scroll forms habits, cravings, and even your identity. Technology promises godlike power, but it always falls short. Discipleship involves refusing to be shaped by our screens and instead renewing our minds by God’s Word.

Phones promise connection, but often they steal presence. Our kids don’t just need us to give them boundaries—they need us to model them. By creating phone-free zones in daily life, you give your family the gift of attention in an always-on world.

A phone doesn’t disciple your child—you do. That’s why boundaries matter. A covenant transforms a phone from a device of distraction into a tool of discipleship. Without one, you’re leaving your child’s heart and habits unguarded.

A phone isn’t just a gadget; it’s a gateway. It can connect your child to truth and community, or it can drag them into temptation and isolation. That’s why waiting matters; you’re giving them the ability to succeed.

Sometimes the hardest part of preaching isn’t what to say, but how to pace it. Do you go short and topical, or do you take your people on a long, steady journey through an entire book of the Bible? Today I want to share why we’re about to begin a two-and-a-half-year walk through the Gospel of Luke, and why I think it’s time to go the second mile in letting God’s Word set the pace.

Preaching is a sacred task, but it comes with relentless demands. When you’re constantly chasing the next Sunday, the joy and intentionality of sermon preparation can fade. Planning ahead doesn’t stifle the Spirit’s leading—it gives space for deeper study, greater creativity, and better shepherding.

Self-control isn’t about sheer willpower—it’s about Spirit-empowered restraint. It’s the ability to say “no” to temptation and “yes” to what honors God, even when no one’s watching. In a world that chases every impulse, self-control helps us follow Christ instead.

Gentleness isn’t weakness—it’s strength under control. In a loud and harsh world, gentleness is the quiet strength that heals wounds, opens hearts, and reflects Jesus.

Faithfulness is rare in a world driven by trends and convenience. But God isn’t looking for flashy—He’s looking for faithful. Steady. Loyal. Committed. The kind of person who shows up, keeps their word, and finishes well.

Goodness isn’t about being nice—it’s about doing what’s right. When the world bends the truth and applauds compromise, goodness stands firm. It’s courage rooted in conviction.
