Terror and Tacos

Caveat (2020). The Playwright Irish Pub. We eat Irish nachos and talk about Irish crawlspaces, terrifying bunnies, and some of our favorite movies to kick off the Halloween season.

Malignant (2021). Rusty Taco. Horror movie? Giallo tribute? Superhero origin story? Whatever the hell James Wan's Malignant is, we loved it.

Fright Night (1985). Fright Night (2011). Saint Taco. We lighten things up after last week to talk about the vampire next door, a remake we actually like, and our loathing of "Evil Ed."

Nuevo Orden (New Order). Huasteca. We do our best to fight through the nihilism to try to figure out what the hell Michel Franco's latest movie is trying to say. We're angry, but not like funny angry.

Fear Street Trilogy (2021). The Omen (1976). The Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). After an extended hiatus, we're back to talk about some new movies, some old movies, and our distrust of reboots (except for that new Candyman).

Seance (2021). False Positive (2021). Chuy's Tex-Mex. This week, we talk about two brand new movies. One is a fun throwback to slick '90s slashers, the other just made us want to watch Rosemary's Baby.

The Eclipse (2009). The Piña Loca Fruteria. We talk about Irish ghost stories, Irish writers, and a hidden gem of an Irish movie.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021). Saint Taco. The tacos were delicious, the movie was garbage. The Conjurverse dies a sad, ridiculous death with this terrible sequel, and we are angry.

The Conjuring (2013). Slices (pizza). Before next week's release of The Conjuring 3, we go back to the beginning and talk about what makes the original work so well. Also, we eat Sicilian-style pizza for reasons that totally make sense.

Things Heard & Seen (2021). The Pińa Loca. We feast on delicious treats from The Pina Loca, and delve into the mess that is Things Heard & Seen.

Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). Kong: Skull Island (2017). Taqueria Los Angeles. We eat monster tacos and talk about our pure glee at watching giant monsters fight!

Demon Seed (1977). The Mangler (1995). Cesar's Tacos. Will an evil AI robot attack your wife? Will a weird, giant, Victorian-style laundry mangle drink your blood? These are the big questions we try to answer this week as we delve into technology gone bad.

Return to Horror High (1987). Tacos La Banqueta. We're fully vaccinated and return with our first in-person show in over in a year! We talk the meta insanity of Return to Horror High and some of our favorite "Return" movies.

Anything for Jackson (2020). The Devil is coming to Canada, and we are loving it. We also hit on the legacy of David Cronenberg as a filmmaker and the father of a filmmaker.

Manhunter (1986). Hannibal (2001). Red Dragon (2002). This week, we go deeper into the "Lecterverse" to compare two adaptations of the same book and to try to figure out what the hell is happening in Ridley Scott's Hannibal.

Clarice (2021). The Silence of the Lambs (1991). How do you take an iconic character, reduce her to a boring cut-out copy of every other TV cop, and ignore an entire generation in the process? Let's find out!

Cobra Kai (2018-2020). New president, '80s nostalgia, awesome karate! It's a good week.

The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020). We kick off 2021 talking about one of our favorite movies of 2020, werewolves, and indie movies at their best.
