Consumerism is more than the accumulation of more, it is the belief that our consumption will in some way answer our deepest needs and solve our problems. It is a worldview that puts our twisted relationship with more, new, now, and better at the center of our lives. How can we push back against this empty ideology?

Jesus concludes the greatest sermon ever preached with a warning: these teachings aren't just to be admired, they are to be obeyed. This morning we explore the shift from fans to followers, from students to apprentices.

When the writers of scripture taught that "God is Love," they used the Greek word agape. Agape is the choice to seek the well-being of people other than yourself. It is selfless love.
