Tell Me When It’s Over
Everyone’s entitled to one good scare – some of us just like it more than others. Tell Me When It’s Over is a podcast for horror fans and first-timers alike, which takes a stab at the greatest horror films of all time to find out why they’re so damn good. Each week, horror aficionado Lucy O’Brien and terrified newcomer Claire Reilly watch a classic from the horror canon, partially to watch Claire die inside, but mostly to discover the joys of this much-maligned film genre.

8 - 28 Days Later (2002) 19.12.2022 1:01:22
Exactly how long does it take for society to totally crumble into oblivion after a zombie outbreak? Exactly two fortnights! This week, Claire chooses a harrowing Danny Boyle flick about a misfit band of survivors trying to make their way to safety a little less than a month after an outbreak takes down the population of London. But could it be that there are worse monsters out there than zombies?...
7 - Rabid (1977) 12.12.2022 53:35
We're carefully continuing our foray into zombie-filled waters with David Cronenberg's early, and influential, Rabid. Does Claire really want to know where the zombies originated from in this particular movie? Does anyone? The answer, is of course, no, because this is Cronenberg. Plus, hear Claire's thoughts on movie surgery scenes in movies!
6 - Night of the Living Dead (1968) 05.12.2022 54:06
After surviving the slashers it's time for a new horror genre: Zombies! For the start of their foray into a terrifying new world of undead monsters, it's Claire's time to pick, and once again she has confused about five movies into one. So while she couldn't pick Richard Ramirez's "From Dusk 'Til Dawn" (is that a movie?) she's gone for the next best thing: the classic that arguably kicked it all o...
5 - Candyman (1992) 28.11.2022 1:20:20
It's time to bust out the urban legends. This week, Claire and Lucy dig into the world of the Candyman. Is he a monster (played by Pierce Brosnan) who lives in your toilet? Or is he one of the most iconic horror figures at the heart of a '90s film masterpiece? Either way, by the end of this episode Claire will be saying his name whether she likes it or not (just don't give her a mirror while she's...
4 - Scream (1996) 21.11.2022 1:01:33
What's your favourite scary movie? Claire has done a few slasher movies now, so it's time to go full meta with one of the few horror movies she's already seen (?!) -- the 1996 Wes Craven banger, Scream. Lucy is absolutely here for it. Let's talk self-referential horror, fandom and the joy of a Cox-Arquette meetcute.
3 - The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) 14.11.2022 1:26:54
All bets are off. We're only three episodes in and Lucy is out here to absolutely ruin Claire's life. This week, Lucy talks about one of her slasher favourites (who has a chainsaw poster on their wall?!) and Claire questions her will to live (is that a face purse he's carrying?) with the hillbilly horror classic, Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
2 - A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) 07.11.2022 54:27
Whatever you do, don't fall asleep! In today's episode of Tell Me When It's Over, it's Claire's turn to choose the movie. So she's chosen a film that brought her many sleepless nights as a child (despite the fact she never watched it), A Nightmare on Elm Street.
1 - Halloween (1978) 31.10.2022 1:02:34
Welcome to the first episode of Tell Me When It's Over! In today's episode, hosts Lucy O'Brien and Claire Reilly lay out the ground rules: one of them loves horror, one of them is terrified of it, but each week they'll take turns choosing a horror movie to watch and dissect. Can Claire make it past the opening credits? Can Lucy convince her to love a good scare? Will their friendship survive this...
