This week we are splitting the screen, splitting hairs, and feeling a little like white bread suburbanite breeders. Babe admits to slinking off to the depths of the basement office building and letting sadness prevail when thoughts of the past and the future collide. Needless to say NUMB sums up the vibe, and we are adding this dope-ass track by U2 to the COVID-19 mixtape playlist.

We’re getting that stagnation feeling, where our brains feel like mush and all we know has expired. We’ve reached week 15 of the COVID-19 disruption and the nauseous adrenaline is wearing us out. What lies ahead, we have no way of knowing, but under our feel baby, grass is growing…. thank the maker for Tom Petty.

It’s been a tense couple of weeks to say the least. In the midst of protests, riots, and domestic political warfare, we celebrated 21 years of marriage with an 8th grade graduation, a steak, and a Beetlejuice rewatch. Like marriage, relationships, trust, and progress: “It takes a second to wreck it/ It takes time to build” The Beastie Boys make track #14 on the Covid-19 mixtape.

This week we discuss racism in our own lives, we reflect on the devastating murder of George Floyd and the tension we are feeling. We are adding the track Out of Time by Blur to the COVID-19 mixtape, because we watched the world spinning from the Space X launch and it couldn’t be more obvious that it’s time to open your mind.

It’s our One Year Team Babe Podcast Anniversary Special! Yep anyway we did this damn thing 53 times! This podcast is our outlet for art, for sanity, and love. We’re celebrating this milestone by adding the classic track by Sonny and Cher to the COVID-19 mixtape. “Put your little hand in mine, There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb…” As long as we can laugh, we will be ok- right?

Babe visited a teledoctor and experienced the VIP feelings of curbside pickup. The other Babe pretended to be Dr. Manhattan sitting on Mars making clocks, we both simultaneously waited for the fog of depression to lift.  We’re passing the time marveling at the lyrical gymnastics Open Mike Eagle lays down on Golden Age Raps, listen for his “special” shoutout to this place we live in.

These babes are getting a little fed up with the conspiracies, I suppose you could call us unbelievers. We also get to the bottom of the meaning of Italian Horn and bathe in the glow of Vampire Weekend, the ultimate yuppy punk band.

Yeah, these babes are 90’s kids, so deal with it. Grunge was built for times like these, and that’s why this week’s track comes from the ultra cool band Garbage. Bonus: we discuss our prison diets and plans for ripped abs.

I’ve seen it all before, in movies of myself…Are ya on Zoom, Facetime, Houseparty, Snap, Stories? Yeah we’ve seen it!
