B-ry and Ben forgot to let you know on the last episode that the Teacher Yarns podcast stops during the holidays. Sooooooo... The boys did a lil holiday special episode.  We weren't too sure what we were going to cover.  Turns out B-ry had a bit to say. Jaclyn is currently working on the TV series Bay of Fires as the educator of child actors. It was a joy to talk all things education and get an insight into what's involved with the education of child actors. Thanks again Jaclyn and good luck for the rest of the shoot!

Do you feel like the education system has your back? Or are we pandering to the whims of entitled students and parents? Another classic B-ry rant!!! This time the big fella kicks off about the power parents and kids have in our schools.  

This week the boys are joined by the amazing "Jeff," who broke their foot in 4 places and still came on the show!   We talk about moderation or "CTJ" or whatever they call it in your state. (That day where we all compare work samples from different schools.) We covered a heap of topics and had an absolute blast on this one, hope the foot gets better Jeff! x

Australia has a brand new education minister and this one is for real... Maybe... Who knows at this point? Has he got an education degree? Of course not. Why would our national education minister need a degree in education? :( Anyway, as you can imagine, B-ry kicks off on this one and has already sent him an email.

Peter Sammak is an actor, with roles in the upcoming film: Mad Max, FURIOSA and TV series: Bay of Fires.  He's had a wild and interesting life, spilling the beans on what it was like going to school and growing up in Punchbowl, Sydney. Very different and interesting chat... Bloody strap in! :)  

The boys spill the beans on what teachers really think about parent teacher interviews. B-ry pays homage to his good mate Bruce Andrews, an incredible teacher, that passed away last week. Plus we play a special little song called, DEAR PARENTS, which you can also watch on Ben's YouTube channel.

This week we talk to "Maverick," who is going rogue and leaving the education department to teach firearms in the police force. Pretty bad ass! An absolute legend of a bloke, with amazing insight and a wealth of educational knowledge that will be sorely missed. Meet B-ry's good teaching mate... KAREN!!! She's a Karen by name and Karen by nature.  Strap in as we talk school camps, seeing ex students outside of school and... TURTLE WRANGLING!

They boys got onto Ben's favourite teacher Michael Poncini. Pon was a teacher for 46 years, two of which he taught Ben in years 6-7. He's an absolute king and we loved having a yarn with the great man. Everyone meet the legend that is... PON!!!

Welcome back to Term 3!  Hope everyone had a good holiday. We're back and talking kids books and reading. And we are joined by the queen of books herself, librarian extraordinaire... Carmel Knight!!!

Bryan and Ben are joined by private school educator, "Aladdin." B-ry recalls his sexual education class from the 70's and we talk about the borderline genius pranks kids have pulled on us.
