The early church realized that their view of God's love was too narrow. We, too, struggle with this at times. God is calling us to expand our view of who is worthy of love.

Tabitha was a believer who was known for her devotion to others. This week we learn a little more about her and are challenged to emulate her devotion for others as well as celebrate our mothers and women who are influential in our lives.

Have you ever needed a second chance? We all do, of course, in many different areas of our lives. In John 21, we see Jesus giving Peter a second chance, but not just another chance to love Jesus, but a chance to rememeber Jesus' love for him.

There are times on our journey when we have doubts about a lot of things. Maybe we doubt what we think God is telling us to do or maybe even doubt our faith. God is with us through out doubts and loves us even when we are struggling.

We spend a lot of time thinking about the right thing to do, but sometimes we just need to do what we can do and not stress about it.

The story of the prodigal son and his brother gives us two examples of what we are often like, and one of how God always is. No matter whether we've literally strayed away from the faith or we've stayed but become bitter and gone through the motions, God runs to us with love and mercy.

As we seek to repent and bear fruit in our spiritual lives, God is patient with us and gives us what we need to grow.

This week we look at the covenant God made with Abram and talk about how God is the one who sustains the covenant. Our only obligation is to believe.

When Jesus was tested in the wilderness, what was the purpose of the test? Was it to test his resolve or more about his understanding of who he was and was supposed to be? How do we misunderstand the messiah and the kingdom of God?

What does it mean for Jesus to be transfigured? What does it mean for us? What should we do and how does it change how we view others?

Scripture contains a lot of difficult commandments. One of the most difficult things may be to love our enemies. But Jesus embodied the great mercy of God and calls us to do the same as we try to be more like him. We can use Judas as an example. As bad as Judas was, betraying Jesus for money, Jesus cared for him and at the Last Supper on the night before Jesus’ death, Judas ate too.

Sermon from John 2:1-11. Jesus' kingdom is an abundant kingdom of Grace upon Grace.

In Christ we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing from redemption to adoption to the Holy Spirit and much more. This week we look very briefly into a few of the blessings mentioned in Ephesians 1 which all lead us to proclaim, "Blessed Be God!"

What does it mean that we have taken off our old selves and put on Christ? How does that change us individually? How does it govern how we act corporately as a group of believers and a community of believers and non-believers in the world?

God’s love has been made known through Jesus, the messiah. This love is one that sees us, sees our need, and seeks to rescue us from our sin and sorrow. 

What doe repentance and joy have in common? It's a lot more than you might think.

Peace seems elusive in our world, although we yearn for and sing about it especially at this time of year. Today we look briefly into the life of Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist and are encouraged to seek peace with God, with ourselves, and with out neighbor.

This week, the prophet Jeremiah reminds us that God sees our needs and we can hope in the promise of God's faithfulness - not only for the future but for the here and now.

Christ the King Sunday is a day when we can be reminded that the Kingdom of God is not about hoarding control or power, but it's about serving others the love that we have found in Christ.

This election cycle in the USA is almost over and many of us are feeling anxious about it. What can the Bible tell us about voting and to ease our anxieties around our election?

In Mark 10 we meed Bartimaeus who is blind. He does a few things that we are also called to do and it seems much of the catalyst is being seen by Jesus.

Jesus, the son of God, intercedes for our sin like the high priests of the Hebrew Bible, but unlike those high priests who were imperfect, Jesus the THE Great High Priest. Through him we have redemption from sin and fellowship with God. Today we are encouraged to walk in that love and fellowship, embracing it and sharing it with those around us.

Today we meet a rich, young man who seemed to have it all but who was unable to find his place in the kingdom of God. If he couldn't make it, then who could?

James 3:13-18 lays out the choice we have to choose between the wisdom of God and earthly Wisdom.
