Talkin ISU Hoops

Starting with ISU’s come from-behind, dramatic victory over North Dakota State in the football playoffs and finishing with the men’s basketball team’s win over Chicago State, the Talkin Hoops trio had plenty to talk about in this energetic episode.

ISU basketball teams went to warmer weather to play in Thanksgiving tournaments (Feast Week). The teams had different results as the men won their tournament in Orlando while the women failed to win on their trip. Trevor, Steve, and Tom touched on both tournaments but focused on the men’s tournament victory.

The game against the Loyola Ramblers was discussed. ISU got the W, despite having a player having a serious injury. Expectations of the game and how the win played out were a couple of the main topics of discussion.

The second game of the men's California trip, a win over Long Beach State, is discussed. Game was played on November 16, 2025

The guys discuss the road game against USC played at the Los Angeles Clippers home court the Intuit Dome. While the game did not result in a win, the guys talked about some of the highlights and what could be learned from the game.

The guys discuss the women's game against Chicago State. The game was played at ISU as part of ISU's Education Day which is an annual game that brings together educators and elementary school kids. The game is the highest attended game each year for the women's team.

Trevor, Steve, and Tom discuss the second week of the 2025-26 Illinois State University Redbirds' basketball teams. The women travelled to play the University of Illinois, while Cornell's men's team came to CEFCU Arena.
