On Thursday, we welcomed back John Oliver, President and CEO of VisitErie.  Our conversation centered around how VisitErie is preparing for summer tourism, discussing the visitor stats and data from Erie’s first quarter, and, of course, looking forward to the Total Eclipse that will happen right over our heads in 2024.

We focused on wellness Wednesday afternoon, as we welcomed Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, Elizabeth Kelly. Elizabeth is no stranger to the radio, as many of you remember her from our sister station, WCTL.  In our conversation, we learned about Elizabeth’s journey into Functional Medicine, and the importance of finding a certified health coach.

Erie's think tank, the Jefferson Educational Society, is celebrating it's 15th anniversary this year of providing programming and a forum for substantive and civil conversations about Erie and the global context in which we live in. To share the JES story, and his own, was the President of the JES, Dr. Ferki Ferati.

We asked the President of the Erie County Community College about the progress, the growth, the bricks and mortar locations, the plans for accreditation, and the very first graduating class of Pennsylvania's newest community college.

For Mental Health Awareness Month, the Erie Coalition for a Trauma Informed Community organized a 31-day Resilience Challenge, encouraging community members to help raise awareness through a social media campaign, along with an event to cap off the month May 31st at the Blasco Library. Our guests were Nicole Platz of the Achievement Center, and Dr. Melanie Hetzel-Riggin of Penn State Behrend.
