The sibs: Sam and Rachel
Swift and Swigs with Sibs
This is the podcast where a brother and sister discuss two of their favorite things: Taylor Swift and cocktails! Every episode we'll feature a Taylor Swift song, we each pair it with a cocktail inspired by that song, and then we breakdown every musical mixology moment. At the end of every episode, one of the sibs announces which song they've chosen for the next episode. The cocktails help to fuel the discussion, so make one for yourself and join us!

Episode 063 - I Forgot That You Existed 15.03.2024 1:14:35
Get out some popcorn and listen as we go down down down into the opening track of the Lover album! We start the episode by discussing the superiorness that is Taylor mashing up songs during the Eras tour, and then we introduce a new tradition that we'll be starting after discussing each song on our episodes. Sam struggles to pronounce the word "colloquially," Rachel fathoms who the s...
Episode 062 - Dear John 08.03.2024 1:11:17
We finally hit another track 5, and a MUCH anticipated one at that! In this episode, Sam put aside his love for John Mayer and Rachel put aside her aversion to him so that they could simply listen to Taylor’s story. And wow - what a story! Full of heartfelt lyrics, emotional vocal deliveries, and quite the tea ☕️, Dear John is truly one of her best songs ever written.
Episode 061 - Should've Said No 01.03.2024 1:07:26
Sam and Rachel open the episode with the sports highlights of Taylor’s first superbowl win. They go back and forth asking themselves “why” or more like “how did this happen?” But alas they realize they should’ve just stuck to music, like analyzing their next track from Taylor’s debut album about making choices: “Should’ve Said No.” After cringing a bit over some of the lyrics and stage performance...
Episode 060 - I Knew You Were Trouble 23.02.2024 1:05:19
Somehow we've reached 60 episodes on our podcast and it's quite hard to believe. Did you know we were trouble when you first started listening? While Rachel and Sam are still reeling and buzzing over the recent Grammy's night, Taylor is jetting off to perform her first shows of 2024 in Japan! The song for this episode, though iconic, is far from our favorite. But oh what fun it is to t...
Episode 059 - Love Story w/ Special Guest Our Sister Emily 16.02.2024 1:16:45
Well we never saw it coming....our sister Emily (aka the other sib) is rapidly becoming a Swiftie! And although she's never listened to an episode of SSS before, she wanted to be a part of the fun this week and so chose Love Story as the song for her featured episode. Finally all three sibs have come together to share cocktails, laughs, and theories about one of Taylor Swift's most famous...

After discussions about Rachel attending a Taylor Swift writing class, Sam being in his post-vacation glow, and the Grammy's, we touch upon some new shit (hello Barney the Dinosaur?). Then we delve into what Sam claims is "one of Taylor Swift&...
Episode 056 - Snow On The Beach 26.01.2024 1:11:39
This podcast episode might be "weird but fucking beautiful," however our flight to get us here was not awful....thanks for asking. Snow On The Beach has Sam scratching his head over the lyrics and their meaning, while Rachel is confident in its origin being based in Taylor falling in love with Joe. We make ties to Delicate and, naturally, Janet Jackson's 2001 hit "All For You.&q...
Episode 055 - Jump Then Fall 19.01.2024 1:02:19
We were feeling quite Bouncy! in this episode, and we think you'll feel that way too! Anyone have any bouncy exercise balls you want to donate to us?! Somehow we tied this Fearless track to "New Year's Day" and "Gold Rush," but the bounce keeps us grounded throughout the episode. The cocktails were, let's just say, "shiney." Don't be afraid to jump the...
Episode 054 - Getaway Car 12.01.2024 1:12:04
It's our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY for Swift and Swigs with Sibs and we decided to choose the ULTIMATE song for the occasion. Just like episode 1, we pair cocktails and discuss "Getaway Car;" however, this time we go into great detail about why this is one of our most favorite Taylor Swift songs of all time! The setting: our parents' house, specifically the back bedroom where Grandma...
Episode 053 - Taylor Swift Song Draft w/ THE WHOLE FAMILY! 05.01.2024 34:33
In this very special episode, the sibs were joined by their other sib, their cousin, their aunt, their daughter/neice, and their friend for this very special episode. Together, these seven Swifties gathered around a table on Christmas day with Taylor Swift cheering on the Chiefs in the background. The challenge: individually draft the ultimate Taylor Swift song list, choosing only FIVE songs that...
Episode 052 - New Year's Day 29.12.2023 1:08:35
HNY from SSS! Taylor really changes up the Reputation sound with this superior album-closing track. Spoiler alert: Rachel cries. The sibs each choose a New Year's song to discuss for their "New Shit," and they giggle over Sabrina Carpenter's innuendos. Once again, slight tension is felt in this supposed love song about Joe. Just don’t read the last page to discover what they'...
Episode 051 - Christmas Tree Farm 22.12.2023 1:00:51
After several discussions over whether certain Speak Now and Red songs were Christmas oriented or not, the sibs finally came together to agree that "Christmas Tree Farm" is assuredly a song of the holiday season. Or is it a birthday song in disguise? Rachel loves to draw theories in these songs, even if they don't seem deep on the surface. Is Taylor frustrated with Joe Alwyn? Or is s...
Episode 050 - The Moment I Knew 15.12.2023 1:13:11
Happy birthday, Taylor! Sorry to hear your 21st birthday party sucked. We so would have been there! And it was like SLOOOOOOW MOTIOOOON!
Episode 049 - Back to December 08.12.2023 1:10:39
Sam and Rachel open the episode with a wrap on their Spotify Wrapped. You’ll never believe who their top artist was! Then they go back to one December day in 2009 with one of Taylor’s very few apology songs “Back to December” on the Speak Now album. Rachel takes Sam Back to December 2009 with a full relationship timeline, mostly so she can make Sam swallow his pride for that certain Dear John guy...
Episode 048 - 'tis the damn season 01.12.2023 1:11:50
"Ho Ho Ho" - said Rachel and apparently Sia, but certainly not Taylor Swift. The sibs might be getting festive in this episode, but there's not too much jolly once they start breaking down this evermore track. Sam teaches us that Afrikaans is quite similar to English, Rachel loves a poppy Christmas album, and Taylor (and Dorothea?) reluctantly, yet lustfully, go home for the holidays...
Episode 047 - champagne problems 27.11.2023 1:24:07
November flush and our flannel cure on the podcast this week! Breaking down “champagne problems” was no easy feat, and Sam really spilled some controversial opinions on Swelce and the song itself. The cocktails contained champagne, because duh. But we had no problems sipping them whilst discussing this major fan favorite of a song! We hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving! Tune in for more Tay...
Episode 046 - "Slut!" 17.11.2023 1:20:20
Still not over 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Sam and Rachel open the episode discussing the prologue, or preamble as Rachel calls it, and the implications of discussing Taylor’s life in public. They decide if they’re going to be drunk they might as well be drunk in love with the first vault track from 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and not wait any longer to break it down on this week's episode. Their firs...
Episode 045 - Blank Space + 1989 (Taylor's Version) Reactions and Discussion 11.11.2023 1:28:06
The sibs FINALLY got to talk with each other about their thoughts and reactions to 1989 (Taylor's Version)! Spoiler alert: THEY'RE OBSESSED WITH THE VAULT! The first half of this episode is all about 1989 (Taylor's Version) before the sibs delve into an iconic 1989 track: Blank Space. We learn that Rachel is "tired" of this song, Sam finds it continuously indulgent, and toget...
Episode 044 - willow 02.11.2023 1:06:49
In keeping with the witchy vibes of the season, Sam and Rachel return to the Evermore era with the opening track “Willow.” They make some witchy brew like cocktails before getting into the literary breakdown. The lyrics of this song are complicated but fun, and if there was a prize for analyzation, they would cheat to win. Follow us on Instagram and TikTok: @swiftandswigspodcast For any show notes...
Episode 043 - The Man 26.10.2023 1:07:56
In today's episode, Sam getts called out for being "The Man" that he is, Rachel can't get enough of Swelce, the Eras Tour movie is here!!!, why does Taylor only work with male producers?, the music video is all sorts of weird, our cocktails are not, and we have a bangin' bridge people!!!! Follow us on Instagram and TikTok: @swiftandswigspodcast For any show notes, visit our w...

Just when they thought they had the song figured out, something goes terribly wrong when they wonde...
Episode 041 - Mary's Song (Oh My My My) 13.10.2023 1:10:43
Oh my, my, my, this week Sam and Rachel take us back to the era of pickup trucks and front porches and daddies (eww) with this week’s song “Mary’s Song (Oh, My, My, My).” Drink every time we say “oh, my, my, my.” While this may not be one of Taylor’s most lyrically creative and some may make them roll their eyes, they still smiled through it. Follow us on Instagram and TikTok @swiftandswigspodcast...
Episode 040 - Glitch 05.10.2023 1:09:55
We think there’s been a glitch because Rachel & Sam are talking about football at the beginning of this week’s episode. Five seconds into the episode they are fascinating themselves with a stitch to these Swelce rumors, and they’re not even sorry. Then they discuss another situationship Taylor got herself into in this week’s song choice “Glitch.” They may not know who this song is about but th...
