Gratitude is the heartbeat of a true worshipper. When we gather to worship, our hearts naturally overflow with thanks for who God is and for all the Lord has done. This message should invite the congregation to rediscover how thankfulness shapes and deepens our encounter with the living God.

Worship is a celebration of God’s goodness! It is a joy we experience together and a joy we are called to share. When we worship, we not only draw close to the heart of God, but we also shine His light to a world that longs for hope. When we call on God, it invites us to come with a spirit of preparation. Just as we wouldn’t walk into the office of a great leader without readiness or respect, so we shouldn’t approach God casually. We long for God because our hearts desire to be near God. God is always present with us, but in worship we become especially aware of His presence in a way that renews and fills us. That closeness is what we truly long for when we gather to worship.

Paul’s words in Ephesians 4:4-6 stop us in our tracks: “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” One body. The American Journal of Psychology defined fear as "the anticipation of pain." There's a lot of avenues and outlets putting what we fear on display. It's crippling. However, the scriptures remind us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but rather one of power, love, and a sound mind. How does Paul instill this in the Ephesians? Let's release the barrier of fear and trust God.

Self Help Books are cheap on Amazon these days. We seek wholeness in all the wrong places. We must break the barrier of inward vanity and find our worth in loving others. Jesus shows us this in his life, death, and resurrection.

Can we be okay with "give us this day our daily bread?" We are always striving for more. In a new school year/new season we want to add MORE to the already full plate. Let's stop the rat race ... God is enough. Let your cup be just as it needs to be.
