1 Peter 2:1-25. When you become a Christian, you are saved, but you are not yet all that God has called you to become. Peter calls Christians to become what God intends us to be – to grow spiritually and to be holy in whatever situation we are in and wherever we may live. To live lives of holiness, set apart for God’s service and his glory is what God's people are called to.

Ecclesiastes 12:13. If you look throughout all of human history, a common thread you will find is man searching for purpose. And if we're honest with ourselves, we still wrestle with that question, because we all want to find purpose in our lives. When we look at Solomon's words in Ecclesiastes 12:13, we find what we're looking for.

1 Peter 1:1-25. Peter, who was very close to Jesus and with him during his ministry, wrote to these Gentile Christians to encourage them to hold on to their hope of heaven during persecutions. Mark 4:35-41 Jesus was exhausted from all his work and wanted to go across the sea to the other side and get some rest on the short trip. While he slept, a giant windstorm stirred up and threatened their lives. The disciples were terrified, woke Jesus up and asked him if he even cared about what was going on. Then, Jesus taught a powerful lesson on trusting in him through our storms.

Mark 2:23-3:6 Jesus is challenged by the Pharisees about the Sabbath and Jesus show them they don't even understand the Sabbath because they had made it about following all their rules instead of a time of rest, refreshment and relationship. Jesus shows us that it is always right to do right and always good to do good when he heals a man on the Sabbath, which infuriates the Pharisees.

Mark 2:1-12 When four friends cut a hole in a roof to lower their paralyzed friend down to Jesus to be healed everyone was amazed! But in this moment, Jesus taught everyone a powerful lesson about his identity. He is the Son of God, the Son of Man and the one God sent to save us from our sins. Jesus shows us that our eternal position is more important that our physical condition.
