This week for his Thursday Thoughts, Brian reflects on some recent parenting experiences and how those have helped him rest more in his Father. 

Last week in 1 Corinthians, Brian spent some time talking about spiritual gifts. But which should we value more, spiritual gifts or character? Let's take a look at 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 and talk about it! 

Who here loves discipline? Some people love a good challenge. Almost no one enjoys struggling. But what if you knew that your struggles were for a good purpose? Take a listen as Brian recounts a recent difficult experience and what it taught him about the discipline of God.

Our passage this week in 1 Corinthians 11 seems confusing at first, but Brian teaches us how context, as well as historical context, can help us better interpret the message of scripture.

We decided it would be fun to try adding his Thursday Thoughts to the podcast! This week Brian reflects on the end of summer and the beginning of the school year routine. Enjoy listening! 

What does it mean to be free in Christ? Most of us don't know how to use our freedom in a healthy way. We sometimes use it as an excuse to sin or be selfish. Not understanding our freedom in Christ can also mean we are trapped in legalism and judgement of others. Brian teaches from 1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1 to teach us our freedom in Christ!

Our series in 1 Corinthians continues this week with guest preacher Tom Downing. Tom challenges us with a call to flee from our everyday idols and a deeper communion with God. 

This week we dive into chapter 10 of 1 Corinthians to discuss temptation. What types of tempation does the Bible warn us about? How do we deal with temptation? What warnings does the Bible give? Take a listen!

Our passage in 1 Corinthians this week uses running a race as an analogy for the Christian life. Take a listen as Brian uses examples from his own experience as a runner to talk about the role of dicipline in the life of a believer! 

How should the Gospel, the Good News about Jesus, change us in our everyday lives? Brian continues our series in 1 Corinthians this week in chapter 9: 19-23.

As a follower of Jesus, do you find yourself leaning more towards grace or truth? The Bible says we should be striving for a balance of both. What happens when we don't? Paul addresses this in his letter the the Corinthians in chapter 5: 1-13. Part of maturing as a believer is addressing sin with both grace and truth!
