Looking at 1 Peter 3:8-22, Pastor Colton preaches that we are called to have cruciform character, confidence, and commitment in a world of conflict as he unpacks what Peter has to say about godly character amid suffering, Christ as Victor, and the beauty of baptism symbolized through the flood of Noah.

Ricky Stephen will be preaching on Psalm 109, which is a masterclass on what to do with strong feelings.  Here we’ll see that the darkest parts of our human experience are to be prayed. This Psalm teaches us that prayer is bringing our whole selves to all of God.

As people who have been won over by the love of Christ, we are to exhibit Jesus-shaped, winsome conduct as we live in relationship with the people closest to us. The story of Jesus shapes how we relate to our spouses - and other people as well - and our Jesus-shaped conduct has the power to lead people to Christ.

The text of 1 Peter 2:11-15 equips us as “foreigners and exiles” to bear fruitful witness by doing good, and particularly by ‘tracing the lines’ or ‘following the example’ of Jesus, who does not retaliate when mistreated.

This week we are looking at 1 Peter 1:13-2:3 and what it means to “be holy in all you do” – to take on the “family resemblance.”  We find out that our minds matter deeply for this process, and it will require a deep commitment and effort.

Pastor Colton and Pastor Dave team up to share a message from 1 Peter on faith in times of trial, especially in light of some particular challenges facing our community and world.

As we begin our new series “ Living Hope: First Peter for the Church on Mission ”, we will focus in on what it means to be “chosen” by God’s divine foreknowledge and what that means for how we view our identity and mission.

In the final message of our “Speaking of Jesus” series, Pastor Dave takes us into Colossians 1:13-23 to help us better understand how we can share the good news of Jesus in our conversations with friends, co-workers, and neighbours.

In Part Two of our series “Speaking of Jesus”, Pastor Dave shows how community plays a significant role in the process of people coming to believe the good news of Jesus, and what this means for our approach to evangelism. We’ll see how Jesus' own approach to ministry sets the example for us.

As we begin our new series, 'Speaking of Jesus: Everyday Practices for Sharing Gospel Hope' Pastor Dave describes some of the hang-ups and challenges we might have with 'evangelism.'  We’ll then look at the goodness of the Good News, a basic understanding of what we even mean when we say ‘evangelism’, and why we would be excited to participate in God’s mission.

In Part 2 of our short series, Life in the Spirit, Pastor Colton goes to 1 John and looks at how God’s grace spurs on toward honest fellowship and love for one another. Because of God’s grace through Jesus, we can be part of creating an honest, humble, culture of grace as we do life together by the power of the Holy Spirit.
