Nowhere in scripture are you called to a blind faith. Everything leading up to and including the resurrection is the substance and evidence (Heb.11) of your faith. John always calls for a response and Thomas said, "My Lord and my God."

This great portion of Scripture is Jesus making high priestly intercession for us as He was about to become the atoning sacrifice.

This is a powerful conclusion to the Lord's longest discourse. The Paschal discourse ends with a powerful lesson of joy. Our greatest sorrow is often the foundation of our greatest joy. Before the crown, there is always a cross.

The most comforting thing about heaven is that we can call it "home."  Everything you think about heaven or know about God is revealed for us in relationship to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ enacts a living parable to teach us how to live in this present world.  God calls us to a self-sacrificial lifestyle.  Every argument, fear or frustration you experience in life is when you hang onto anything other than Jesus.

With one third of the gospels focused on the last eight days of Jesus' life, if you talk about Jesus without including the death burial and resurrection you have nothing more than a social gospel.  The problems we have in the nation today are not caused by crazy unbelievable politicians but the likes of the liberal preacher who thinks the days of the condemning sin is past.  Hosea 9:7

Christ is the resurrection and the life.

Perhaps the greatest of all illustrations in the Bible of God's care for His people and the inclusion of "other sheep," which transcends ethnic identity.

People are not blind (sinners) because they sin, they sin because they are blind (sinners) from birth.  God is not the author of sin but his defeat of sin displays the glory of God.

Jesus reveals the true evil in the heart of hypocritical religious people who use God's word to judge others and not their own self.

Every relationship reaches a turning point.  Chapter 6 begins with a crowd of about 20k and by the end of the chapter just the 12 and one of them is a traitor.  When you follow Jesus for the wrong reason you will eventually become offended by what He says.

A prophet has no honor in his own country. The crowd welcomed Him but for all the wrong reasons.  Jesus rebukes them saying, unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders, you will never believe.  

Jesus uses the serpent raised up on a pole by Moses in response to Nicodemus. John then gives us the most familiar verse in the Bible with an open invitation for all to look and live. 

God's full attention is focused on you through the birth of His Son, Jesus.

Jesus is a continuation of God intended all along

Beginning with chapter 7, we are transported to a spiritual kingdom over which our God reigns.

This begins the final and perhaps greatest vision of Daniel.  It draws back the curtain on the spiritual world that is led by Satan and very much in opposition to the child of God and in particular against the people of Daniel, the Jew.  It introduces us to a time of great persecution from which the church is removed.

One of the most important chapters in all the Bible that pinpoints the timing of Christ's coming.

God gives the prophecy detail of the 2nd and 3rd world kingdom.  The antichrist is illustrated with Antiochus Epiphanies who is yet to arise out of a consortium of the 4th kingdom.  God is still in control and will soon pick up with Israel where He left off so long ago.

When living in a den of thieves its good to know God is in control.  As torchbearers of truth, your light not only reveals the evil all around but makes you an easy target for those living in darkness.

We are fast approaching the point of no return by the arrogance of our appointed leaders.

The pride of man often mistakes the long-suffering of God as "I got away with it."  However, by king Nebuchadnezzar’s own testimony we learned (4:37) …the King of heaven will judge; and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

You either believe the record or you don't.
