In Star Wars Return of the Jedi, Vader finally fulfills the prophecy and destroys the Sith, Emperor Palpatine. As Palpatine pulled on Anakin's strings almost his entire life, in the end it was Luke Skywalker's love for his father that brought him back to the light, breaking free from the plague of Darth Vader and freeing himself as Anakin Skywalker, once again.
