Stapleford Baptist Church
Stapleford Baptist Church is a ‘family’ of people who aim to follow God’s commands as recorded in the Bible. We are Christians (followers of Jesus) who are seeking a relationship with the one true God, creator of all things, loving, and merciful. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus died on the cross, rose again and through his death and resurrection we can be saved. So, there is a warm welcome for you or anyone who visits us. We would love you to discover the God who found us and has made us His own! We meet on Albert Street, Stapleford, Nottingham, NG9 8DB, UK

Today, we return to our series of studies in the Bible book of Hebrews. We left off at the end of Chapter 7,so today we loom at the whole of Chapter 8 - and find the writer of the book pointing out yet another facet of the uniqueness of Christ - he's a bit like the Jewish High Priest, but much more so and coming with a much greater promise - a promise that each one of us should to take notice...
September 3rd - New Beginnings, Joshua 1 03.09.2023 27:39
As we begin the Autumn programme at SBC, we've chosen, for the first Sunday, to consider a biblical new beginning. Joshua, who has been Moses' helper for many years suddenly has to step into the role of leading the march of a huge number of men, women, children and livestock across a deep river and into enemy territory. It' definitely a new beginning for him and, ignoring the fact that...
August 27th - God provides a substitute, Genesis 22 27.08.2023 37:43

Will God listen to him? Join us to find out ... and to find out how we can ta...
August 6th - Abraham meets the lord, Genesis 18v1-15 06.08.2023 29:53
Abraham's encounters with God ramp up to a new level in today's look into the Bible book of Genesis. God had spoken to him several times before but now Abraham meets him face-to-face. And God announces that the promises he's made to Abraham many years earlier are about to be fulfilled, never mind the apparent impossibility of that happening. Can Abraham and his wife, Sarah, trust God i...
July 30th - A one-sided covenant, Genesis 17 06.08.2023 38:57
In today's look into the Bible book of Genesis we see how unreasonable God is - he is super generous, even to those who doubt his generosity and power. In this excerpt from the life of Abraham, we find God being amazingly good and Abraham laughing in disbelief. But while Abraham's initial response may have been to doubt God, he did respond in obedience to what God asked of him. And that tu...
July 23rd - The eyesight of faith, Genesis 16 23.07.2023 30:12
Today in our look at the story of Abraham, as recounted in the Bible book of Genesis, we encounter Abraham wih poor faith-sight, a slave with good faith-sight and God with 20-20 vision, even of people's hearts. We find that God sees the good and the bad, the suffering and the joy ... and asks us to respond as he responds even to those who refuse to look at him. This weeks "Kids Resources&...
July 16th -Abraham gets a wild promise ... and believes it 16.07.2023 42:35
Continuing the story of Abraham as recounted in the Bible book of Genesis, we encounter God making an astounding promise to Abraham in Chapter 15. Despite it seeming wildly improbable, Abraham takes God at his word and gets far more from God than he could have imagined. God hasn't changed. He still gives huge promises that are so difficult to fully grasp - but he still keeps those promises. Le...
July 9th - Genesis 14, Abraham rescues Lot 09.07.2023 32:13
After a short break, today's sermon picks up the story of Abraham as recounted in the Bible book of Genesis, Chapter 14. His nephew, and all his nephew's family and belongings, have been raided by a posse of minor kings. So Abraham sets out on a rescue mission ... and he's very definite about thanking God for its success. Maybe we can learn something today about seeing God at work in o...
July 2nd - Acts 8 v 26-39, Baptism: the who and the when 02.07.2023 29:07
Jesus' followers in the first century were baptized outdoors in any available piece of water. Today we (and Andy) were fortunate enough to have water indoors for the purpose! But the reason and the requirements are just the same as they were for an Ethiopian government official as we'll hear about today. Is it time that you were baptized? This weeks "Kids Resources" are here :- h...
June 25th - Jesus the Greatest of All Time 25.06.2023 24:18
You've dropped in on a guest service ... so a special welcome if you are a guest. The service today is a little shorter than normal because the kids are staying in with the adults all the time. To keep the attention of as many as possible, the talk today is broken up into small chunks, too. But the subject is the key to Christianity, to life and to death., to the whole universe - it's Jesu...
June 18th - Genesis 13, Relatively Closer to Christ 18.06.2023 27:42
Today's look at the life of Abraham takes us to one of the key decision points in anyone's life - whether to live on the basis of what seems like a good thing to do or whether to live by faith in God who promises far better than we can see or grasp. A powerful lesson that we all find difficult to learn. This weeks "Kids Resources" are here :- http://staplefordbaptist.org/communit...
June 11th - Genesis 12v10-13v4, Even good people fall 11.06.2023 34:25
Abraham gets a good press in the Bible ... mostly. But like every human (except Jesus Christ) he's fallible and can be corrupt. In this second look at his life we find him running scared and making some very bad decisions - with fallout in every direction. In fact, he's uncomfortably like us even though he lived about 4000 years ago! This weeks "Kids Resources" are here :- http:/...

May 7th - Hebrews 7v11-28 - Jesus is better than any other priest 07.05.2023 27:19
Today we reach the end (for now) of our series from the Bible book of Hebrews. And the message is still, fundamentally the same - "trust the Lord Jesus Christ in every situation for everything". The only difference from week to week seems to have been the reason the author gives to convince us that trusting Jesus is far and away the most sensible thing to do. So, join us at Stapleford Ba...

And the answer is because this marginal character provides us with a very important message that everyone needs to hear. So, join us at Stapleford Baptist Church to find out about King M! - Thank you so much for spend...

This week we're continuing our series from the Bible book of Hebrews and we discover that the promises that God has made are rock-solid - he won't change his mind or back down from what he's said. He's a better priest than any other - perfect, eternal and caring for his followers. Thank you so much for spe...
