Stapleford Baptist Church is a ‘family’ of people who aim to follow God’s commands as recorded in the Bible. We are Christians (followers of Jesus) who are seeking a relationship with the one true God, creator of all things, loving, and merciful. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus died on the cross, rose again and through his death and resurrection we can be saved. So, there is a warm welcome for you or anyone who visits us. We would love you to discover the God who found us and has made us His own! We meet on Albert Street, Stapleford, Nottingham, NG9 8DB, UK

January 26th - The family builds, Nehemiah 3 26.01.2025

Nehemiah faces a huge task. God wanted him to get the walls of a whole city restored and the gates reconstructed. But this seemed like an impossibility ... and it was until the people caught hold of God's plan and power. Then they worked in harmony with each other, each taking up their share of the task. What a lesson for us! https://www.facebook.com/staplefordbaptistchurch/ https://www.youtube.co...

But with God things go differently. https://www.facebook.com/staplefordbaptistchurch/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/...

January 12th - Sharing God's heart, Nehemiah 1 12.01.2025

Today we start our studies in the Bible book called Nehemiah. We get to meet Nehemiah in his job as an important servant of a heathen king. Will Nehemiah survive (yes, of course he will, otherwise there wouldn't be any more chapters of the Bible book...

December 15th - The King who brings Justice, Isaiah 9v7 15.12.2024

Here's the third look at Chapter 9 of the Bible book of Isaiah. In the midst of the gloom of Isaiah's world, and in the midst of the mess that's our world, we've already seen that the arrival of King Jesus brings peace and brings hope. But today we're going to find that he brings justice. With so many crooks around we might go "Yes! At last!", but then we find that Jesus' justice affects everyone...

December 8th - The King who brings Peace, Isaiah 9v6 08.12.2024

The second look at our Christmas King ... Jesus is not just the King who brings hope but also the one who brings peace. We live in a very unpeaceful world, between countries, between groups of peoples, in families and even in our own heads. We need peace desperately. And Jesus brings peace by dealing, first of all with our lack of peace with God. Only then we can begin to bring peace in our own li...

December 1st - The King who brings hope, Isaiah 9v1-5 01.12.2024

November 24th - Hope in utter darkness, Isaiah 8 24.11.2024

After last week's glimpse of God in his glory, Isaiah (and us) are plunged into the depths of disaster. Isaiah's son is born with the warning from God that war is imminent - war which will result in the army being shattered and the country being plundered by the enemy. And, for many, even God himself won't provide a sanctuary - instead many will find God to be the final hurdle at which they fall....

November 17th - An awful assignment and an awe-filled appearance, Isaiah 6 17.11.2024

Although we've been looking at the first few chapters of the Bible book of Isaiah for several weeks, today is the first time we get to see the prophet Isaiah up close. God gives him an awful job to do - and the encouragement God gives him is an immense shock for Isaiah - God reveals Isaiah's helplessness and hopelessness in a dramatic way ... but he also shows that Isaiah that can rely 100% on God...

November 10th - A farmer's disappointment, Isaiah 5v1-7 10.11.2024

Today we continue to look at the early chapters of Isaiah and a parable about God and his people - the picture is of a farmer who plants a vineyard, nurtures everything and looks for good wine at the end of the process ... but he gets rubbish. What has God done for us? What have we produced for him? https://www.facebook.com/staplefordbaptistchurch/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCON8kZnw_hT-2eaV...

November 3rd - A drastic turn-around, Isaiah 3&4, 03.11.2024

More darkness to unpick in chapters 3 & 4 of the Bible's book called Isaiah! This week we see Isaiah the prophet laying into his hearers on behalf of God. "You've brought calamity upon yourselves". It's a message we all need to hear as everyone of us has to a greater or lesser degree failed to keep to God's standards. But, as last week, there's a glimmer of hope - for God himself, who we've al...

Today we start a new series on Sunday mornings in which we'll look at the first 9 chapters of the Bible's book called Isaiah. Isaiah was a prophet to whom God gave a challenging job - to tell his hearers that calamity was about to fall upon them. And Chapter 1 of this book is the start of his wake-up call. Those to whom Isaiah gave his message really needed to hear what he had to say ... their liv...

October 13th - The welcomed become welcomers, Romans 15v1-7 13.10.2024

Today's the last of our short, 4-part, series covering the vision we have for out church ... though we guess we're covering much what every church wants to be - the church that Jesus wants us to be. He has welcomed us into his family, his kingdom and his life so we want to welcome any and everyone so that they, too, can find a home with him. https://www.facebook.com/staplefordbaptistchurch/ https:...

October 6th - Jars of clay become glorious treasure, 2 Corinthians 3v12-4v18 06.10.2024

Here's the third look at God's plan for Christian communities ... we look much more like cracked flowerpots that are unable to hold anything useful - broken and unable to fulfil God's purpose for us. But God is changing us into a people with an eternal value beyond price ... like smashed pottery we are being turned into a glorious treasure! https://www.facebook.com/staplefordbaptistchurch/ https:/...

September 29th - A family becomes a holy temple, Ephesians 2 v14-22 29.09.2024

Last week we got off to a great start, finding out what God wants Christian communities to look like ... and discovering that God will definitely make his church into a perfect, gorgeous one. Today the picture is of a family and a temple - people being united together in Christ's family - the place where God lives. This church may not much look like that yet, but we are on our way! https://www.fac...

September 22nd - The church as a radiant bride, Ephesians 5v25b-27 22.09.2024

This week, and the next 3 Sunday mornings, we're looking at what God wants Christian communities to look like ... and encouraging each other to become a community more like God's model. Today we look at the Bride & Groom imagery - the Church is designed to be a radiant bride approaching the wedding ceremony. Her wedding dress is amazing, but it's the look on her face which is much...

September 15th - Jesus, the one who suffers, Luke 9 v37-50 15.09.2024

Last week we heard about Luke's account of Jesus showing his followers that he was the promised Messiah - the special one who came from God the father in Heaven to live on Earth and to call us all into God's family ... and this week we find about the cost. A huge cost, not to anyone who listens to Jesus but to Jesus himself. https://www.facebook.com/staplefordbaptistchurch/ https://www.you...

Introduction to Real Change - the 3 trees 09.09.2024

In the Church's Life Groups in the early part of Autumn 2024 we are considering how we can change to become more like Jesus. September 8th - Jesus the Messiah, Luke 9 v18-36 08.09.2024

So, it's back to Luke's account of Jesus Christ's life on earth - and today he makes plain that Jesus was (is) the Messiah - that means the person that God had promised, almost from Day 1 of the planet, would sort out the mess that humanity had got itself into - the person who would overthrow evil permanently and allow any human who wants to stand before God perfect in every way. A per...

September 1st - Christ is in heaven for us, Hebrews 9v24 02.09.2024

To start our Autumn programme we're going to remind ourselves of the Church's verse for the year which says "Christ entered heaven ... to appear for us in God's presence". Yes! every follower of Christ has the ultimate representative speaking to God on their behalf. Amazing! Does that make a difference to how we live? You bet! https://www.facebook.com/staplefordbaptistchurch/...
