Saul has an experience, however he is told what it means, he is persecuting Jesus. He has been persecuting Jesus' people, in doing so he is actually persecuting Jesus.

Day 31 - Acts 8:1-13: Signs and speech 3 — Philip and Simon. God's message goes out through suffering and triumph. While people are scattering they take God's word with them.

Stephen does signs and tells of God's magnificent acts through Israel. To be God's people sometimes you have to go against the grain.

Peter heals a man lame from birth and tells people where this power comes from. The Risen Lord Jesus of heaven and earth.

Day 28 - Acts 1:8: Signs and speech together. God will work by his spirit to push his gospel to the ends of the earth. God's people will be empowered to push his message tot he ends of the earth to his glory. "You will receive power from on high, and be my witnesses from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth" Acts 1:8

The spirit filled community is surprisingly practical. They are devoted to the teaching, generous to outsiders, meet regularly in worship and people come to Christ.

The promise is fulfilled. The presence of God is here. His power comes to turn them into witnesses testify of the Risen Jesus all to the glory of God.

Jesus’ people are waiting on God to deliver on his promise. They are both spiritual (devoted to him in prayer) and practical (they got on with what needs to be done in the meantime).

The promise of the Father, is he will send his power. Can they trust him? They have many reasons to draw on, to trust him.

The prequel to the story of the Spirit that will be unleashed over the coming weeks. This is the origin story for the presence of God.

God's children do not wait for God to change things. To keep community together, they take the initiative, to practice reconciliation, whether in the right or the wrong. Reconciliation in God's Kingdom, works by looking at yourself first, taking initiative to restore and involving others. Matthew 18:15-20

The community of God; children needs to look after other children and seek them - Matt 18:10-15

Matthew 18 is all about helping each other to stay childish. That is dependant on the good Father.

It is very hard to face the reality of our own selfishness. However we can when we know the Father is good and loves us, even as we are. Matthew 15:10-20

being adultish - focused on the outside. Children of the Father are focused on the heart.

Jesus in Matthew 11:16-29 says people have already made up their mind about me, for their heart is already set. It would not matter what Jesus has done, what God has done through him, some people are set against God.

An example of childlike trust. He does not infer from experiences of people and relationships, what God is like. Instead it is revealed that God is good and his Father can be trusted. This is childlike behaviour.

There is a narrow path. The path of childlike trust in the good Father. The board road that leads to destruction. It takes trust to be people that are generous in wealth and relationships reflecting our good Father.
