Spiritual Attunement through Meditation

Religion EN ↓ 132 episodes

This is a weekly podcast, published every Friday morning, that will include short readings and quotes from many diverse spiritual sources, including the Edgar Cayce material. I believe that truth is found in all enlightened paths and that we each seek love and Divinity in our own personal ways. Each podcast episode will also include the preparatory meditation attunement techniques suggested in the Edgar Cayce readings and will then be followed by two minutes of meditative silence prior to the closing readings. #32: Doing Non-Doing 09.08.2024

Today we’ll be looking at Jon Kabat-Zinn’s 1994 classic called Wherever You Go There You Are, mindfulness meditation in every day life. Mindfulness is considered the heart of Buddhist meditation, but its essence is universal and of deep practical benefit to all. In essence, mindfulness is about wakefulness. Our minds are such that we are often more asleep than awake to the unique beauty and possib...

#31: Cooperation 02.08.2024

Today we’ll be looking at the concept of cooperation and its importance in living our best life on this planet. In A Search for God, book one, it is the very first chapter. It’s a foundational concept in the Cayce material. The A Search for God books one and two were put together by Study Group #1, the small group that worked with Edgar Cayce in 1931 to compile a guide based on the readings to hel...

#30: The Ocean of Consciousness 27.07.2024

Today we’ll be looking at David Lynch’s 2007 book called, Catching the Big Fish. Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity. Mr. Lynch works specifically with transcendental meditation, but as Edgar Cayce points out, there are many ways to meditate and many paths to transcend. The majority of us don’t fully realize that we have vast untapped levels of consciousness within reach and readily availabl...

#29: Know Thyself 19.07.2024

Today we’ll be returning once again to the Search for God books which were put together in 1931 by study group number one and based on readings that Edgar Cayce did specifically on the subject of spiritual growth. Today we’ll read from book one, chapter 2, Know Thyself, the section entitled Self in Relation to Others. A critical topic in the divided world we currently live in. As always, we will i...

#28: Love and the Ascension Attitudes 12.07.2024

Today we’ll once again be looking at information from the book, The Door of Everything, written by Ruby Nelson in 1965. This is a book that has been so important to me over the years and one that I think most sincere spiritual seekers would find fascinating. A free online version of this book is found at the link in the show notes. In chapter 7 of this book, the author speaks about what she terms...

#27: The True Purpose of Meditation 04.07.2024

Today we’ll be looking at information from the book, Meditation and the Mind of Man. Based on the the Edgar Cayce Readings and written by Herbert B. Puryear and Mark A. Thurston. #25: Our True Home 21.06.2024

Today we’ll be reading from the 1999 book Going Home, Jesus and Buddha as Brothers, written by Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh, published by Riverhead Books. The concept that we are already home is a comfort to me. To finally realize that wherever we are, we have the innate ability to seek our own truth, to be at home with ourselves, our God, our teachers, be they Jesus or Buddha, and to follo...

#24: Happiness: The Cayce Perspective 14.06.2024

Today we’ll be focusing on A Search For God, book ll, chapter 11, entitled Happiness. This is our second episode focusing on happiness, this time from the Edgar Cayce perspective. #22: The Body Temple 31.05.2024

Today I’ll be reading selections from John Van Auken’s 1992 book, Toward a Deeper Meditation, published by the ARE Press. The concept of the body as a sacred temple that can be used as a doorway and conduit to the Divine is made quite clear here. This is not a new concept and has been given for thousands of years in many spiritual traditions from Hinduism, to Buddhism, to Christianity. We are invi...

#21: Our Indestructible Reality 24.05.2024

Today I’ll be reading selections from Eckhart Tolle’s famous and highly recommended 1999 book The Power of Now, a Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment. Try to spend some time this week with a simple awareness your inner self. Just being and sensing your true energy and aliveness. #17: Meditation Benefits 26.04.2024

Today I’ll be reading excerpts from the book entitled The Lost Art of Silence, by Sarah Anderson, published in 2023 by Shambala publications. We’ll be looking at the chapter discussing the benefits of meditation. I’m always hesitant to use the word benefits in association with meditation because generally we try to avoid viewing meditation as goal oriented. That being said, however, we know, for a...

#16: Finding Happiness 19.04.2024

Today I’ll be reading excerpts from the book entitled Meditations from the Tantras, written by Swami Satyananda Saraswati in 1983. Jesus spoke of these as well,...
