This week Dave brings us sermon number two in our sermon series on 'Belief' looking at the "I Am" statements of Jesus. This week we look at "I am the Light of the World" and the theme of 'light and darkness' from John 8 and throughout the whole letter of John.

We begin our new teaching series in John's gospel, examining some of Jesus' 'I Am' statements. Dave Horne opened the series for us from John 6:25-51 where Jesus reveal himself to be 'the bread of life'.

Richard Humphrey was our guest preacher at our Confirmation and Baptism service at Southern Beaches this week, and preached from Galatians about the importance cultivating spiritual fruit in our lives as a response to what God has done for us.

Sibin Varghese closes out our month of guest preachers from Wellspring Anglican as he preaches from 2 Peter 3, 'The Day of the Lord'. We've been so blessed by the teaching of Jesse, Anthony, David, and Sibin, and are grateful for their partnership in the gospel, making disciples of Jesus in Tasmania.

Have you ever felt abandoned by God? Forgotten? Or, as Jesus famously says on the cross, forsaken? David Humphrey shows how Psalm 22 is a reminder that feelings of abandonment, even significant suffering, are not evidence that God has left us or forgotten us. In fact, unlike others in our lives, God will never leave us, but will remain close at all times.

Anthony Francis preaches from Psalm 8 about how the grandeur of the universe can often leave us feeling insignificant and worthless, but how God, in his great love and majesty, has made much of us, crowning all humanity with glory and honour.

Our teaching series for February is based in the book of Psalms. Throughout the series we are hosting lay preachers from Wellspring Anglican who will come and share the good news of Jesus with us from the wonderful and emotional book of Psalms. This sermon is from Jesse Rowlands, and he reminds us of the importance of keeping a godly perspective on our problems.

In the final week of our series on rest, Lee Weissel looks at how we can access God's rest, both now and in eternity, through Christ.
