Jesus teaches in the gospel that he is the Good Shepherd. He defines that as one who cares for, loves, and lays down his life for his flock. At the same time, he calls us to do the same. Are we willing to take up the mantle and be the good shepherd of whomever calls us to be?

Jesus started something incredible when he began his ministry. He called people to think differently and to be different. The main question is, are we willing to answer the call?

Jesus was the most revolutionary figure of our time. His main message throughout his whole ministry was love. He showed it constantly. He called us to show it in ways that are sometimes uncomfortable. It still must be who we are as his followers.

In our lives, there will always be storms and hard times. How we handle them shows our character. Jesus was able to calm a physical sea storm. How much more can he aid us in calming the spiritual and emotional storms in our lives.

One of Jesus' greatest commandments is to go out and make disciples... to become Fishers of Men. This is the main purpose of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. How are we doing in fulfilling that purpose?

In many bibles, Jesus' words are all in red letters. Jesus' teachings are the life blood of being a disciple. His death and resurrection cemented their importance for all eternity. He promised us that there would be more than this life to live for.

One of God's best qualities, specifically for us, is his abundant and rich love. Without it, he would have given up on us a long time ago. He continues to be Gracious, Compassionate, Patient with us because of his amazing love for us.

When something is new, it can sometimes be scare. Especially if we don't know what the plan is. God can often take us in new and different directions, that can sometimes be scary since we don't know what his plan is. Trust and faith is the key.

So often, our past can define us, and at times, even hinder us from progressing forward. God wants us to remember our past, but not let it stop us from moving forward. Your past is part of you, but let God and his plan always be what is ahead of you.
