Tyler "Soups" Campbell hosts "Soups on Hockey". It's not just one style of show. He's looking at all angles. Sometimes it's the BS (Big Show) where he'll look at what's going on throughout the league and the sport. Sometimes it's the SOHO (Soups on Hockey Oilers). "SOH Best Bets" normally done for Saturday nights for your gambling fix. The "Short Shift" is a 15-30 min show that is normally an instant reaction to breaking news. Soups is also building a big library of retrospective shows, unique rankings, hypotheticals, round table discussions, interviews, and so much more!

SOH 1991 Re-Draft 13.04.2020

One of the biggest "what if?" drafts of all time gets re-drafted as Colin Budd is back to help me re-draft 1991.  Maybe the most notorious draft in NHL history, and we spend a lot of time looking at Eric Lindros in particular.  What if he never went to Philly?  What if he went to the Rangers?  Which of the two 1992 draft day trades were better for the Nordiques?  Who was t...

SOH 1990 Re-Draft 09.04.2020

Something different today and hopefully we'll be able to knock out as many as 20 of these episodes over the next while as my good friend Colin Budd joins me to do a re-draft of the 1990 NHL entry draft.  If you're a fan of Bill Simmons and been checking out the podcasts that he has been doing of late, then you know where I got the inspiration for this.  Not that a re-draft is an original...

SOH - Oilers top 20 prospect rankings 03.04.2020

A week ago I put out my top 20 Edmonton Oilers prospect rankings on soupsonhockey.com, so this is basically a follow up to that! A system that has produced Ethan Bear, Caleb Jones and Kailer Yamamoto this season alone, find out what else is on the way! Plus, looking at who the top 5 most important prospects are in the system.

SOH Mar. 24th, 2020 24.03.2020

I try to avoid the Covid-19 talk as much as I possibly can, but it’s unavoidable. And frankly this isn’t my best episode. I was rusty, mind is elsewhere, so if you think I do shitty I completely understand. I somehow go on and on and on about things though. What the shows might look like for the next while, I finally get around to some Oilers talk, but it’s basically a show that goes off the rails...

Soups on Oilers Feb. 19, 2020 19.02.2020

A lot of Oilers talk to catch up on since the last BOA....a lot of BOA talk in general, Oilers play of late, and of course a lot of time talking about what I’d like to see Ken Holland do before Monday’s trade deadline

SOH Feb. 19th, 2020 19.02.2020

In this episode it’s all about....HOCKEY!!! Why is that big? Because it’s very little on the Oilers! They get their own podcast today, separate from this one where I talk about the NHL/CHL agreement, the Olympics, the Lloydminster Bobcats, the Flin Flon Bombers, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Montreal Canadiens, and a lot of trade deadline discussion as it’s now just 5 days away!

SOH Jan. 31st, 2020 31.01.2020

Over 2 hours?!?! I guess I had a lot of BOA to talk about! Ton of that obviously, which team does this Flames team remind me of? What did I think about the David Rittich stick toss? Who will win the 4th instalment of the BOA on Saturday night? Obviously more on the Oilers, Kassian, trade deadline, the Benson call-up, and I start the show....well I start it by singing, but then my thoughts/memories...

Soups on Hockey Jan. 16, 2020 16.01.2020

On this edition of the Soups on Hockey podcast....Gallant fired, DeBoer hired, Shero fired, analytics guy likely to be hired, Habs need to blow it up, Kassian needs to blow someone up, Oilers and Flames fans unite over Eric Francis stupidity, and a whole lot more on the BOA and the Oilers specifically

Soups on Oilers Jan 9th, 2019 09.01.2020

Mostly Oilers talk in this one (hence the title), though I do reference a pornographic website quite a bit throughout. Oilers in Montreal tonight, when Tyler Benson might get recalled, sensible trade targets for the Oilers, and should they or shouldn’t they look to sign Ethan Bear to the same deal Rasmus Andersson got? All in this very random edition of Soups on Hockey/Oilers/whatever I’m calling...

Soups on Hockey Jan. 6th, 2020 06.01.2020

After about a month away, I’m back!! Did you miss me?! Bet you didn’t! But I’m back talking Canada’s big win at the World Juniors, coupled with a lot of prospect talk and a lot of Oilers talk!

Soups on Hockey - The Catcast 29.11.2019

For the 2nd time this season, Bobcats play by play man Shane Tomayer takes time out of his busy schedule to discuss all things Lloydminster Bobcats!! (apologies for the audio issues)

Soups on Hockey November 21st, 2019 21.11.2019

Too much going on right now for me to keep my mouth shut, and I’m not sure I even got to half of it! Mike Babcock fires by the Leafs. The Flames have similar early season issues as the Leafs. And obviously I never do a podcast without talking some Oilers.

Soups on Hockey Nov. 16th, 2019 16.11.2019

This goes much longer than I planned!! But obviously I talk about the Don Cherry fallout, then I get to the Oilers. Specifically, whether or not I’m believing in their start, Caleb Jones, and the potential of Taylor Hall returning and what would need to be done should he sign back in Edmonton. I also go off the tracks on a few things as always, I don’t want to deviate from the formula....

Soups on Hockey Oct. 24, 2019 24.10.2019

On today’s show I talk about how politics brings out the absolute worst in people, the Oilers performance in Minny, the importance of tonight’s game vs the Caps, I lay out in great detail how Taylor Hall can fit into the cap moving forward, I look at the 6 other Canadian teams including ending things with a look at what’s going on with the Leafs. The economy, election and weather all likely brough...

Oct. 14, 2019 edition of Soups on Hockey 14.10.2019

Oilers are 5-0!!! But why? Is it for real? What do I like? What don’t I like? Is Auston Matthews as good as McDavid? Is Roope Hintz as fast as McDavid? Is Eric Francis good at his job? All these questions are answered in this thanksgiving edition of the Soups on Hockey podcast.

Soups on Hockey 19-20 season preview 02.10.2019

MOSTLY about the Oilers. The 1st hour is on the Oilers. Expectations, what needs to go right, some ranting and raving I’m sure, how the kids will eventually get implemented, also what to expect from Bakersfield. Then the last half hour is an overview of my league wide season preview which I wrote earlier today.

2019-20 Lloydminster Bobcats Season Preview 13.09.2019

Bobcats play by play man Shane Tomayer joins me for a special edition of the Soups on Hockey podcast as we take a look at the 19-20 Lloydminster Bobcats squad!  This is the first of what will become the Lloydminster Bobcats podcast (working title) where we will keep you up to date on all things Bobcats.

Soups on Hockey 2020 NHL Draft top 32 Rankings - July 31st, 2019 31.07.2019

My 1st draft rankings of the year are now out! Don’t forget to check out the blog as well soupsonhockey.com/2020-nhl-draft-top-32-prospects

Soups on Hockey - Lucic traded for Neal 20.07.2019

The Oilers acquired James Neal for Milan Lucic. Stanley Cups in the future of both teams? No! Mainly cause they each signed these particular players! But who won the deal? Find out.

Soups on Round 1 of the 2019 draft 22.06.2019

You’ll never believe this, but I talk a LOT on the Philip Broberg pick. Bet you couldn’t have guessed that! Why it might work, why it might not, why the Oilers had zero need for a defenceman, why I don’t like the job Sportsnet does, why I liked some teams picks, why I didn’t like some teams picks, why the Oilers should pick certain kids today in rounds 2-7, lots of questions answered!

Soups on Hockey May 27th, 2019 27.05.2019

2 and a half hours?!?! Maybe I should do these a little more often so I don’t ask people to take a full day to listen to these!! It was done in 3 sections though. The first section (45 min long) is mostly looking at the Stanley Cup final, the NBA final (yes, NBA on a hockey podcast), and the Oilers hiring Dave Tippett. The second section (51 min long) is the first of two parts looking at the Oiler...

Soups on Oilers May 5th, 2019 05.05.2019

Ken Holland is likely the next GM of the Oilers? And now it sounds like Dave Tippett could be his head coach? I have very mixed feelings on this and I lay them out in this impromptu edition of the podcast!

Soups on Hockey 1st round re-cap Apr. 25th, 2019 25.04.2019

Basically, it’s in the title! I review the completely crazy 1st round of the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs. Also look at what might be to come for some teams, and take a quick look at what we might see in the 2nd round which begins tonight. No Oilers talk in this one (other than in passing) which is a miracle!

Soups on Oilers Apr. 21, 2019 21.04.2019

On this long overdue episode, Mark Hunter, Mike Babcock, other Oilers GM HOPEFULS (that I’m hoping for anyway), how I’d look to construct the team for next season, and who I like as the 8th pick in the draft. My voice now hurts so you better enjoy this!

Soups on Oilers vs Devils March 14th, 2019 14.03.2019

Heyyyyyyyyy I’m back!!! And just in time to announce that the Oilers season is DOA! Thoughts on the game, Koskinen getting shit on by the Edmonton MSM, not as bleak as it seems moving forward, changes in philosophy, the new GM, new coach, and more! I didn’t do this for a few weeks, so it’s not very good. Listen at your own risk.
