Usually, we think about gratitude as being a product of good circumstances. When good things happen, we are more grateful. When good things don’t happen, we are not as grateful. But what if gratitude was not merely a reactionary feeling? What if gratitude was actually a proactive choice? And what kind of effect might that have on our life and faith?

As we walk into this election week, we want prayer to be our first response, not our last resort. So this weekend, we will host a prayer gathering for our church, our city, and our country. Going into an important week, let us center our minds and hearts on what's most important.

This while series has been about showing people the love and transformative power of Jesus. But sometimes, God gives us an opportunity to talk to others about it. This will be a week where we equip our people to have conversations with others specifically about faith.

Helping others experience transformation not only happens when we invite others to come where we are, but it happens just as powerfully when we show up where they are. This week, we will learn what it means to be a good neighbor.

Once we have invited someone, we need to make space for them. This week, we will teach on our church's value and vision of radical hospitality. We will discover what that looks like not only at Soul City, but in our lives individually. And we'll dream about the effect that our hospitality can have on the transformation of others.

This week, we will remind our people that in Jesus, we all have been invited to the table. And we will encourage them that not only have they been invited, but we are also called to be inviters.

This week we will focus on the "WHO". We will learn about the importance of the Great Commission and why it is so important for us who have the good news to share the good news. And we will get really specific about who the "You're" is in "You're Welcome."
