Song of the Soul

Dana had a life-changing experience in 1991 when God gave her the first of her Christian songs, after years with secular bands. Since then she's been given more than 100 songs and will have a release concert for her first solo CD, Leap of Faith, on November 17th.

Jon Watts is a 'Young Friend' - a Quaker in the 18-35 age range - and he's found a passion and a ministry through his music.

Joe has 2 CD's out as part of a band named Carp 18 and has one solo album of his own. He's Catholic-raised and has found a niche helping the teens of St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Minneapolis with their youth band.

Bryce Black, Timothy James Young and Yata teamed up in a concert bursting at the seams with Spirit on May 10, 2008, held at Unity Christ Center.

Born and raised in the South, between Georgia & Texas, David's spiritual path has taken him from the traditional Christianity (Baptist/Methodist/Presbyterian) through 12 Step experiences to New Thought Churches (Unity & Religious Science). Through it all, music was a perversive and Spirit-livening part of David's process.

Catherine Price is southern born and raised with a hobo's heart and deep affection for many types of music, including, currently, country swing. She was raised Southern Baptist, served in the Peace Corps and ended up a Quaker, all of it with a deep connection to music.

James Schattauer has been writing and performing songs since 1979 or even before, and since 1987 has used the moniker Mister Jim for his performances for children and families.

He's an educational psychologist, a motivational speaker, recipient of awards for Best Children's Album, a dad, and a deep, serious and humorous songwriter.

Dale Worley's music  is fun and it's deep and it's sacred and it's  rockin' . Dale is a Lay Minister & Truth Student at  Unity Village , and has been playing the piano since he was 8, influenced by Jerry Lee Louis, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, Ray Charles, Little Richard and Elvis Presley.

Carol Johnson has been producing music for adults and children for decades and her music has even been featured on Sesame Street and in national hymnals and curricula. Among the powerful, moving and insightful spiritual music she has created is the theme song for our Spirit In Action programs, "I Have No Hands But Yours." She lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, performing and touring extensively.

Back on April 22nd, also known as Earth Day 2007, the Eau Claire Friends Meeting organized, Unity Christ Center of Eau Claire hosted and the Sierra Club and the Shalom Mennonite Church co-sponsored an Earth Banquet Potluck and Community Earth Singalong. Chester McCoy grew up Catholic in a working class neighborhood of St Louis when segregation was still the rule. His way out of the limitations and oppression of racism was through education, social work and his his rich connections with people, including college at St John's in Collegeville, Minnesota. Cyndi Bradbury has a passion for music that she lives out each weekday in her profession of music therapist, and each weekend as the music director for Plymouth Congregational UCC. Cindy loves animals and the outdoors, being a bit silly and conveying caring through her music.

A number of folks in Eau Claire started Advent with a Peace Sing-along. The event was organized by Eau Claire Friends Meeting (Quakers), hosted by Unity Christ Center, and co-sponsored by Eau Claire's Unitarian Universalist Congregation, the Network of Spiritual Progressives and Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, each providing 15 minutes of peace-related songs for all to sing. Nancy O'Neill is a life-long American Baptist and a lover of music, including decades of bringing music to Eau Claire's First Baptist Church. Daughter of an American Baptist minister, she has grown from conservative beginnings to embrace more of the world and to embrace its people more widely.

Greg Farley started learning guitar around 10, and came back to it after several other instruments. Raised Catholic, he sought a better fitting spiritual home, studied with Jehovah's Witnesses, eventually settling, more-or-less, in charismatic Christian circles. His Song of the Soul is comprised of original compositions by Greg, from his new CD called  For All To See .

Chris Powell started piano lessons when 6 years old and added trombone to his repertoire in high school, and appreciates music of all stripes but has a special passion for classical music. Chris is a member of the  First Baptist Church in Eau Claire , though he was raised without much exposure to organized religion.
