Simply Pondering

Just continuing to read through Revelation and share some ponderings about the passage for anyone who wants to listen. Not super in depth or anything, but a nice blessing to read and share God's Word. He is worthy of it all! The Lamb who conquered death is worthy! Revelation 4-5 here.

Let's just read in Revelation together and talk about it. How's that sound? What started as 1 chapter turned into 3. God is good!

Have you noticed the world seems to be getting a darker and darker place to live? I certainly have. Here I share my thoughts on the Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, some changes in our society, and what the Bible says about all this. Plus, how we as Christians should respond. What are you gonna do about the evil rising in the world? Embrace it, or reject it and choose God instead?

Why does God let bad things happen to good people? Because of sin. But, that doesn't mean God abandons His people through the bad times.

The kingdom of God is at hand! I know the time is coming soon when Jesus will return for His bride, but until then, I just want to remember how faithful God is to keep his promises. Let us be faithful too then, shall we?

The time is near when Jesus will return. I've been diving into Matthew 24 and Revelation 6 to grow in understanding about what's coming and what we have to look forward to as followers of Christ. Hey, do you fall short of who God wants you to be and what he wants you to do? Yeah, me too. This is kind of just a reminder that we're all screwed up, but I'm gonna add that we should also be willing to admit when we mess up. I mean, you never know who's watching...

Kids are often told to enjoy their childhood while it lasts, but are they being provided the space, time, and resources to do so? Or are they growing up in an environment that is pushing them to always be busy and grow up faster than they're ready for? 

After reading Make Me Like Jesus by Michael Phillips, I was inspired to contemplate the question, "What does it look like to live like Jesus?" Here's some of my (and Phillips') thoughts on the matter.

I'm stressed. You're stressed. We're all stressed. In this episode, you can probably hear the stress and exhaustion of where I'm at today. We all just need to de-stress. 

What does it meant to live a life devoted to God if we're imperfect? I'm pulling from and focusing on a lot of what Romans has to say here, but I think it's important to answering this question. We all want and need to have people in our lives we can turn to. We all desire community. I've been pondering what people are and are not looking for in community, and how we can build the kind of community that we seek. Just some of my thoughts, but I'd love to hear yours!
