Many of us know what to do with God, and we have an understanding of Jesus, but what do we do with the Holy Spirit? Today we look at what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit to help us gain an understanding and allow Him to guide our lives.

When God calls us it isn't because we are perfect. Quite the contrary actually. It is our imperfections that perfectly set us up for the destiny God called us to.

We all face difficult decisions on a regular basis. It isn't the easy decisions in life that define us. It is always how we handle the difficult ones that do. We need to be bold like Esther when we reach those crossroads because you never know whose life will be affected by it.

We serve a God who likes to stack the deck against us. When we are up against impossible odds, it will take bold obedience to His uncommon logic for Him to come through big time for us.

Mephibosheth had to overcome the underdog excuse of being too far gone to sit at the king's table. As we tell his story, we see how the king's invitation had nothing to do with him at all, but with a covenant made long ago.

Jacob was an underdog who struggled with his label. We all have labels that people have put on us or that we have put on ourselves. We must identify the negative labels, because the labels we accept will determine the way we live our lives.

David was a king and a giant killer, but before he was those things he was just David, a shepherd boy. Just like David did, we have to overcome voices of doubt and fear of the unknown so we can begin to live out the plans that God has for our lives.

We all want comfort. We like our chairs, beds, clothes, relationships, finances, and lives comfy. But the invitation to follow Jesus is anything but that. In fact, it is quite the opposite as he invites us to "Come and Die."

Our natural response to intimacy is fear because we know that vulnerability and pain go hand in hand. Followers of Jesus have been called to a deep level of intimacy, where they know and are known completely.

Jesus extended an invitation to anyone to come and follow him. Anyone means everyone. To invite everyone, Jesus made sure all the qualifications and excuses were removed. As the church, are we ready for what it means for anyone to join the journey?
