This year we are going to stop, take a look at all that God has been doing here at Simple Church, and look at what possibilities are ahead and how we can make a difference in the world around us.

Jesus challenges us to live in way that is uncomfortable because real life is found at the end of your comfort zone. At the end of The Beatitudes Jesus says in Matthew 5:10-11: “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice...

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." This week we look at how we are able to come to the end of our performance by stepping out of the spotlight, refusing the costumes and rehearsed lines, and to stop with the pretending because God is looking for those who have a sincere heart. 

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" Matthew 5:4. These contradictory words of Jesus are the path to discovering the REAL life that he offers - a full and fulfilled life - one that is hidden from us and requires us to die to ourselves to discover it. 

When you reach the end of you is where you find Jesus begins. Today we begin a series looking at the real life Jesus offers through his sermon on the mount. "You're blessed when you're at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule" (Matthew 5:3 MSG). Only Jesus can give us life. We cannot live a God honoring life without God honoring friends. But is UNFRIENDING bad company what we need to do? Or would our relationships be better served by redefining them? Ultimately, the tension to be managed here is to move forward with God's plans for your life, while making sure you love people where they are, inviting them on the journey to honor God with you. 

You are one community away from your entire destiny being changed. Having a personal relationship with God is important, but God designed us to have a shared relationship with Him. That means that we are not just missing a someone in our lives, but we are missing a group of someones. 

We are, each of us, just one friend away from changing our destiny. We all need friends, but there are 3 specific kinds of friends we need in our lives. Friends who will make us better, encourage us, and tell us the truth.

Many of us don’t realize the importance of the people we choose to surround ourselves with. Our friends determine the quality and direction of our lives. In "Friending," learn how good friends (and bad friends) can impact your feelings, your relationship with God, and your future. 

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future." You know this verse well and probably have it on a coffee mug or cross stitched into a pillow. But is this verse a promise for me and you? Or do we have it twisted?

"Do not judge, lest you be judged" is the most quoted verse in the Bible in today's culture by those inside and outside the church. When Jesus said this, did he remove our ability to make judgments? Is that what he really meant? Or are there provisions to how and who we should judge?

Today, we begin a new series looking at verses in the Bible that commonly get misused. We kick off the series looking at John 14:13-14 where Jesus said he'd do anything we ask for in his name. But does this really mean what it looks like at face value? An exploration into the context and interpretation reveals all. 

Men may be down, but we are never out because failure is an event, never a person. In today's last look at Samson, we see how he was bound, blind, and broken. But when he turned to God, he restored him to his original purpose.

Samson didn't ruin his live all at once, he did it over time with small steps in the wrong direction. Today we look at 3 small steps that Samson took toward his destruction and how it all could have been avoided if he would have just turned around.

Men don't like to think of themselves as emotional, but we are. As men, there are two major emotions that the enemy will use to take us out - Anger and Pride. We must learn to live spirit led lives and not emotionally driven ones.
