Joseph is asked to interpret a dream that Pharaoh has had. It is about the 7 years of good and 7 years of famine in the land of Egypt.

Today's discussion we're going to talk about the benefits of owning your own ISBN Number as a self-published author.

In this Chapter we see that Joseph is in prison but God has set him up to be a blessing to others thru interpretations of their dreams.  He looks out for the butler and baker of Pharoah's house but he only asked the favor of the butler , the butler agrees but in the end, the butler plays Joseph and forgets all about Joseph.

We see that Joseph is living in Potiphar's house and is in control of everything in the house but then he suddenly has to deal with Potiphar's wife and her trying to seduce  him into sleeping with her but Joseph refuses to do it. Our topic today deals with the way God uses others for his purpose, from Adam & Eve to Jesus & Paul.  When you look in the Bible we see how God uses all the people in the Bible for what he wants accomplished in the world from the beginning of time until now in today's society.

We see it throughout the Bible all the time. We see it with Adam & Eve, Cain & Abel, the list goes on and on. Sometimes we think that we getting away with it and then other times it comes out in other ways we least expected it too. But God knows all, he knows what your gonna do before you do and he never holds it against you.

Chapter 38 is about Judah and his family structure.  He has wives and the wives have son's but they die bc they were not pleasing to God, except for one, Shelah. Judah is left with one of his son's wives, Tamar and she is promised to Shelah but she is never given to him to wed. Tamar seeks her rightful place in the family and she ends up having children by Judah.

This is the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors and how his brothers conspired to get rid of him but we see a much deeper problem, the way the son's left their father feeling in the end from their decision to deceive him about Joseph.

When you read this chapter what does it show you… how the family dynamics are different from the way we live in today’s society… they were very close net people and generations lived together unlike how we live today.

God speaks with Jacob and tells him to leave the place of the Canaanites and go where I tell you to go. Jacob leaves there and no hurt, harm nor danger befalls him during the journey.  Rachel gives birth to one more child before she dies, Benjamin. Jacob passes away at the end of the day f their journey.

So Jacob and his family are living peacefully in the land but the unthinkable happens, Dinah is assaulted by Shechem the son of Hamor. The brothers of Dinah, Simeon and Levi had other plans for the Shechem and Hamor. What happens next will shock Jacob to his core and he will feel disgraced and dishonest with the people he lives with.

Finally they meet, Jacob and Esau and they are happy and joyous in their meeting....so joyous that they hug, kiss and weep together in their reunion. Everything for Jacob has turned in his favor bc he has talked to God about the situation and things turned out totally different.

God has given Jacob specific instruction to go back to his where he came from but before he can go back he is faced with the situation that he has to deal with Esau first.  Jacob comes up with a plan and he talks to God about that plan and while he waiting that night he is faced with wrestling with a man out of nowhere and he doesn't let go of the man until he is blessed.  He receives his blessing...

Jacob has decided to leave from Laban's house in the middle of the night and takes everything and everybody with him.  When this is found out by Laban he pursues Jacob but God lays on his heart to be leanant with Jacob when it comes to judgement. Laban and Jacob talk and come to an agreement with each other and Laban lets him have everything he took and returns home to his own land.

Leah and Rachel are in competition for Jacob's time and attention. They are so devoted to having children by him that they even sacrifice their handmadens, Bilhah and Zilpah for this cause. Jacob is thinking that it's getting crowded where they live so he then goes to Laban to discuss the separation of his family from Laban's family.  Laban leaves but Jacob has devised a plan to while still k...

In Chapter 29, we see that Jacob finally reaches his destination of Laban's house and he meets his future wife or so he thought, he agrees to serve Laban 7 years for Rachel but is tricked out of her and ends up with Leah.  He serves another 7 years for Rachel and she is given unto him, he serves another 7years after he acquires Rachel.  Leah realizes that she is hated by Jacob but the Lord blesses...

In today's Chapter, we see that Rebekah's plan is going as planned and Isaac doesn't know that he has played right into her hands when it comes to Jacob going to her brother, Laban's house to find a wife.  When Esau hears of how Isaac, his father has given Jacob permission to leave and find a wife with Laban's house but doesn't want neither one of them to wife anyone in the Canaanites camp, he goe...

Isaac knows that his time is near for him to transition and go to heaven and he has a plan to bless the boys, Esau and Jacob but Rebekah interferes in the plan that she knows has to happen.  Rebekah pulls Jacob aside and she coerces him to go along with her plan to deceive Esau out of his birthright.

Today we see that God has vowed to hold up to his end of a obligations that he has made with Isaac's father Abraham to Isaac and it sets him on a path that does the same for him as it did his father.  

The family dynamics are changing  for everyone in this chapter and some try to cover up their pain and others try to runaway from it.  There is deception and betrayal going on in the family and Abraham is unaware of this going on in his family but let's see what happens .

Abraham wants Isaac to have a wife, so he sets things up so that can happen before he passes away.

What do we do when it comes to death in the family and what are our responsibilities for the death of a loved one. Abraham is faced with this responsibility when Sarah passes away.

Abraham is faced with a decision that no parent should face but it is a test that he passes in his obedience for God.  God always a way of escape when it comes to our lives.  When your obedient to God's word things work out in your favor.
