Twenty-fifth Sunday after Pentecost / Lectionary 33, Revised Common Lectionary Year B With our final Mark reading of the lectionary year, we find the disciples still failing to follow Jesus faithfully, and Jesus still making promises that God will reward our faith even as the sky seems to be falling around us. 

All Saints Sunday, Revised Common Lectionary Year B Revelation 21:1-6a At the end of our Bible, God promises to make all things new. Death and mourning and crying and pain remain with us, even as God promises they will be no more. We trust in God's promise.

Lectionary 29B Mark 10:35-45 After Jesus again tells of his impending arrest, suffering, death, and resurrection, James and John ask a stupid question of Jesus. Jesus talks about leadership as servanthood and about points us toward the truth of freedom in Christ.
