Brother Luke Harriman shared this reflection on the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, encouraging us to give thanks not only for what the Lord has done for us but also for who He is to us. Using the acronym THANKS can remind us of precious truths that will fill our hearts with gratitude, saying “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

Brother Steve Campbell shared three scenes from Scripture where people’s actions prompt others to ask, “What are you doing?” May we live in such a way that those looking on are curious about our motivations. And when they ask, let’s be prepared to speak of our Lord who calls us to live for His glory and not the approval of man.

Brother Collin Beckford shared these thoughts on the Lord’s Day after we sang the hymn with the refrain, “To Him who lives but once was slain be honor, power, and praise, amen!” What a great call this is to live our lives for His glory.

Brother Ashton Bristol shared these thoughts on the life of the apostle Peter and the need for a faith that is dynamic and “growing in grace and in knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Brother Ken walked us through seven appearances of the risen Lord Jesus to His beloved followers. In each, we see the Lord ministering to a particular need with His presence. May we draw near to Him in faith!

Brother Norris gives us a sober reminder that our life’s span is limited, and it is known only to God. May we be like the psalmist, who said, “Teach us to number our days.” And Brother Kazi shared further thoughts from Psalm 91 on this topic.

In this message from Malachi 1, Brother Laurel asks us, “Have you ever blamed God?” What an encouragement to remain faithful to the Lord, even when it isn’t clear from our circumstances exactly how He is working. May we remain true to Him through the good times and the bad.

Brother Paul Palmer Sr. shared these thoughts on the opening verses of 2 Peter, where the author presents himself as both Simon and Peter , both a servant and an apostle of the Lord Jesus.

During a visit from North Carolina, Brother Paul Palmer Sr. shared these thoughts on the C.R.O.S.S. after our breaking of bread meeting, drawing our attention to our Crowned Redeemer, the Obedient Servant, the Savior of sinners.

A couple of Sundays ago, Brother Howard Gordon shared these thoughts on the passage from Psalm 8 quoted by the writer of the Epistle to the Hebrews: “He was made a little lower than the angels.”

Brother Ken Huebner took us through the many times the Lord Jesus used the phrase “I am …” in the Gospel of John. Truly, there are many lessons for us in these, and we can be sure that whatever our need might be, He is able to meet it.

Brother Colbert Martin drew our attention to the title “the Lord of Glory,” which was mentioned in several of our hymns. How amazing to think that the Lord of Glory would stoop down to our low place to lift us up. We see this grace clearly displayed in the the Lord’s healing of the leper in Mark 1. May we respond to our Lord’s touch with gratitude and praise.

As we joyfully anticipate receiving a young brother into fellowship at the Lord’s Table next week, Brother Laurel Smalling challenges us to recall that remembering the Lord in the breaking of bread is no slight thing. Let us guard our hearts against any tendency we have to treat this blessed privilege lightly as we continue to hold forth His death until He comes!

During a visit to our area, Brother Ruel Clarke shared this message on the unfathomable love of the Lord Jesus and its effect on us. As we learn more and more about His love, we are led to love God and others more deeply.

During a visit from Jamaica, Brother Howard Gordon shared this helpful explanation of what it means to say we are “justified by faith.” We can truly be thankful for the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!

Brother Laurel Smalling took us to the early life of Abraham in a reflection on the way believers are called to lives of separation from evil and from the systems of the world. Let us be encouraged to press on toward the promises of God. Don’t stop in Haran!

Using the story of the ten lepers who were healed and some verses from Colossians 3, Brother Luke Harriman encourages us to continually walk in the way of gratitude as a testimony to the greatness of the Lord’s grace.

Brother Laurel Smalling drew our eyes to the Lord Jesus as the Servant of God, prophesied years before His coming as the One who would serve in perfection. May we live as servants of God, imitating Him.

Brother Collin Beckford shared these encouraging thoughts on the steps the Lord walked through leading up to the cross. May these meditations draw from our hearts praise and adoration for our Lord!

Brother Laurel Smalling shared this brief encouragement toward unity among us by reminding us of the tower of Babel, where we see that not all unity is of God. May we be like those in the early church, who were encouraged by Paul to “speak the same thing” (1 Cor. 1:10) in the Lord.

For Father’s Day, Brother Luke Harriman shared some thoughts on what it looks like to be a Proverbs 31 man . Though we usually focus on verses 10–31 of this chapter and the beautiful picture they give of a godly woman, we can also gain encouragement toward being a godly man from the opening of the chapter in the instructions to King Lemuel by his mother.

Right in time for our summer memory challenge, Brother Ken Huebner shared this challenge with us to be “transformed by the renewing of our minds” as we read, study, memorize, and meditate on the Word of God.

Brother Norris Clarke shared this interactive message during our open Sunday School session—using a portable basketball hoop, no less—about the importance of drawing near to the Lord and following closely after Him. The audio ends with a song by Ken and Carolyn Huebner.
