‘Why are you so agitated, and why are these doubts rising in your hearts? ... a ghost has no flesh and bones as you can see I have.’

‘You believe because you can see me. Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe.’

Simon Peter who was following now came up, went right into the tomb, saw the linen cloths on the ground, and also the cloth that had been over his head; this was not with the linen cloths but rolled up in a place by itself.

And those who went before and those who followed cried out, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming! Hosanna in the highest!’

unless a wheat grain falls on the ground and dies, it remains only a single grain; but if it dies, it yields a rich harvest.

The Son of Man must be lifted up as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert.

Making a whip out of some cord, he drove them all out of the Temple, cattle and sheep as well, scattered the money-changers’ coins, knocked their tables over...

There in their presence he was transfigured ... Elijah appeared to them with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus.

"The Spirit drove Jesus out into the wilderness and he remained there for forty days, and was tempted by Satan."

‘If you want to’ he said ‘you can cure me.’ Feeling sorry for him, Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him. ‘Of course I want to!’ he said. ‘Be cured!’

The whole town came crowding round the door, and he cured many who were suffering from diseases of one kind or another

"And his teaching made a deep impression on them because, unlike the scribes, he taught them with authority."

After John had been arrested, Jesus went into Galilee. There he proclaimed the Good News from God. ‘The time has come’ he said ‘and the kingdom of God is close at hand. Repent, and believe the Good News.’

As John stood with two of his disciples, Jesus passed, and John stared hard at him and said, ‘Look, there is the lamb of God.’

'You are my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on you.’

The sight of the star filled them with delight, and going into the house they saw the child with his mother Mary, and falling to their knees they did him homage.

When the day came for them to be purified as laid down by the Law of Moses, the parents of Jesus took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord...

She wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them at the inn.

"The Good News I preach, and in which I proclaim Jesus Christ, the revelation of a mystery kept secret for endless ages, but now so clear that it must be broadcast to pagans everywhere to bring them to the obedience of faith."

The spirit of the Lord has been given to me, for the Lord has anointed me.

Make straight the way of the Lord!

How often do I need to say it? Stay awake!

‘All that you have written is sure and will come true: the Lord God who gives the spirit to the prophets has sent his angel to reveal to his servants what is soon to take place. Very soon now, I shall be with you again.’
