This morning Vijay concludes his series, Postcards for Plodders, by looking at the Letter to Laodicea in Rev 3 14-22. The letter reminds us of the the dangers of prosperity to a vibrant faith. The Kid's slot includes the retelling of the the encounter Zacchaeus has with Jesus.

Many of us find it difficult to trust. How, then, can we act on the biblical instruction to trust in the Lord with all our heart? What is the role of our own understanding? And how does knowing God help us to trust? Join Florence as she considers these questions as she looks at Proverbs 3:5-6.

We often feel our weakness as we face difficulties in our Christian journey but God wants to strengthen us. Psalm 84 talks of those who go from strength to strength. How do we access the strength God wants to supply us with so that we're able to face and overcome the difficulties life throws at us?

At this morning service, we conclude the 3rd session of the Big Church Weekend. God transforms those he leads into the wilderness

In the second session of our Big Church Weekend, James looks at how God provides for those he leads into the wilderness. God's provision is sometimes surprising, but always sufficient for the circumstances we are in.

Florence Mackenzie kicks of our Big Church Weekend titled Bloom Where Nothing Grows. She looks at how God sometimes leads his people into the Wilderness. When we find in such a place, she reminds us not to be afraid. She gives several pointers on how we learn to wait, trusting that God will bring our time in the Wilderness to an end.

Derek explains from Psalm 19 that God's glory is revealed in a general way through creation. God reveals himself specially through the Law. God reveals also those thing about us that we need to change. He does all this so that people might see the glory of God.

Vijay looks at the Lord's letter to the Church in Philadelphia (Rev 3:7-13) in his series 'Postcards for Plodders'. The letter reminds us that perseverance is about holding on to Christ when you persecuted for his sake. When suffering remember that you are loved by Jesus, that he preserves you and will reward you. Vijay looks at the letter of Christ to the the church in Sardis (Revelation 3.1-6). He reminds us that although routines and rituals are wonderful habits that form us spiritually, the people of God need to guard against 'spiritual sleepwalking'. It is when the believer or church are going through the motions of faith without conviction and a love for Christ.

Continuing his series on the Book of Revelation, Vijay looks at the letter sent to Thyatira (Rev 2.18-29). The insight from the letter he focuses on is that the love the follower of Jesus is called to exercise must be rooted in truth of Scriptures revealed in Jesus. Vijay looks at Revelation 2:8-11, the Letter to Smyrna. Christ reminds us to be prepared to suffer for his sake. He knows what you go through for his sake. Keep your eyes on the eternal prize. During the Kid's slot, Dave looks specifically at Paul's role as a missionary. He invites Dan & Katie Paterson to explain their own work as missionaries in Bulgaria.

Vijay continues his series Postcards for Plodders, looking at Revelation 2.1-7, the letter to the church in Ephesus. The Spirit calls the church to persevere in love and not mistake good deeds, moral outrage or a commitment to Christian truth for love. During the Kid's Slot, Dave and Cheri look at how the early church learned to share the good news of Jesus to the world.

In today's Service, Cheri reminds us that God's design for us to to enjoy the balance of Sabbath rest and worship with work. Sabbath is not idleness but a disciplined acknowledgement that God is in control. During the Kid's Slot looking at the Book of Acts, Dave and Cheri remind us that the Christian response to persecution is to pray and show love for the persecutor.
