Today’s chapter marks a turn in Ezekiel’s prophecies. The fall of Judah and Jerusalem is history. God now gives Ezekiel a new assignment as a watchman on the wall. From now on, he’s prophesying on Israel’s restoration — not just in 70 years, but in the far distant future for Ezekiel.
