Luke 13:1-9 Jesus is teaching the importance of repentance in our lives. Unless we repent of our sins, we will perish. Plain and simple.

Luke 7:18-24, in todays Bible reading, we see where John the Baptist, while in prison, sent two of his disciples to Jesus to find out if Jesus is indeed the Messiah, or if they should watch for another. Think of the magnitude of that question. We see in the Gospels the strong faith of John the Baptist as he preached repentance, as he boldly proclaimed Jesus as the Messiah. Luke 4:13, we learn in this verse that after the time of tempting Jesus was over, the devil left him alone for a season. Trials and temptations only last a season, and we must be ready to go through them so we develop a strong, steadfast faith in God. We also learn some valuable principles to help make it though our seasons of temptation.

Luke 2:49, we see Jesus telling His parents that He must be about His Fathers business. In other words, Jesus is saying that He must do the things that God called Him to do. The fact is that you and I both need to be about the business of God. What has God called you to do today?

Mark 14:32-42, Jesus catches His disciples sleeping 3 times in these verses. While we might be quick to condemn them for that act, we are, in fact, no better than they are. It’s time we get serious about our faith, get serious about reading the Bible, get serious about prayer and get serious about witnessing.

Mark 12:41-44, we see the story of the widow and her mite. In this account, Jesus is sitting by the treasury watching as people were putting money into the church. Many came putting in large sums of money, then a widow came with her few pennies. Jesus made a statement about the giving He saw that will probably shock us. Mark 3:1-6, here we see Jesus challenging the Pharisees about what is right. As Jesus was teaching in the synagogue, a man with a withered hand was present. Jesus was going to heal that man, but challenged the Pharisees if it is right to do good or evil on the Sabbath. Jesus was angered at the hard hearts displayed by the religious leaders. Why? Matthew 28:11-15, these verses teach us about faith. Specifically, not to allow the lack of others peoples faith affect your faith. In the verses I read, we see the religious leaders bribing the guards at the tomb to tell people that the disciples stole the body of Jesus. What hogwash. Yet, an entire nation believes that story.

Matthew 25:1-13, These verses teaches us about 5 people who were ready, and 5 people who were not at the coming of the bridegroom. Of course, this is a picture of the return of Jesus. Are you ready? Looking at Matthew 24, we see where Jesus tells us what is going to come at the end times, and we can see much of it happening now. Are you prepared?

Matthew 24:32-42, In these verses we see the importance of watching and being ready for the end times, for the rapture and for the second coming of Jesus.

Matthew 9:9-13, we see here the calling of Matthew as a disciple. We also see Jesus teaching an important lesson. We are called to repentance, meaning we are called to ask forgiveness of our sins, then turn and walk in a different way than before. Many times, we seek forgiveness without leaving our sins behind. Is there a change in your life and how you live it compared to your life before Christ?

Matthew 8:23-27, in these verses, we see Jesus and the disciples in a boat when a great storm arises and threatens to sink the ship. The disciples, out of fear, woke Jesus. He rebuked the storm and everything was calm. You may be going through a storm right now, and it may seem that your boat is about to sink. But, Jesus is right there, give your fears to Him.

Matthew 3:1-2, 5-11, These verses introduce who we know as John the Baptist. He was the forerunner to Jesus, who preached repentance, who baptized Jesus. We can learn a lot from him, some of which we discover. In this episode, I present 3 things about John’s life that we should imitate.

Mark 2:1-2 we see Jesus spending time at a house, and the news of his location spread through town, and the house was packed full with people wanting to see Jesus. What if Jesus showed up at a church this Sunday? Would we recognize Him, would we put down our phones long enough to see the LORD?

Mark 2:1-12, we see the story of a crippled man whose friends brought him to be healed by Jesus. Because of a huge crowd, they could not get to Jesus, but that did not deter his friends. Acts 8:9-25 we read the story of Simon the Sorcerer. He got saved and baptized, then tried to purchase the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, so he could give out the Holy Spirit. He came from a life of magic and sorcery, and many people felt he had power from God. Because of his new found faith, he quickly discovered that his old life cannot coexist with his new life in Christ.

Psalm 126:1-2, this Psalm gives us some tips to help you get your praise on. When was the last time you really praised God? Even more, when was the last time you told others about the good things that God is doing in your life? Why not find someone today to tell about the things God is doing for you.

Selected Verses, in this episode, I focus on reasons why we don’t tell others about Jesus. In John 14:12, Jesus declares that we will do the works He did, and greater works than those. By discovering what the will of God is, we see the works that Jesus wants us to do, and we see how we need to start doing those works.

Romans 8:26-27, if you are like me, sometimes I just don’t know how to pray. I don’t know what to pray for. But, as usual, we have good news in the Bible. Listen and discover what to do when you don’t know what to pray.

John 14:14 Jesus tells us to ask anything in His name and He will give it to us. Is Jesus really giving us a blank check to ask whatever we want? Is Jesus some kind of genie in the sky? No, I believe Jesus is teaching something bigger, something like spiritual maturity. Listen and see what Jesus was really saying here.

John 13:34-35, Jesus is teaching His disciples an important lesson on love. We need to love others in the same way God loves us. Is that what you are doing today?

Mark 8:36-38, Jesus is challenging us with tough teaching for living. What can you or I offer to God in exchange for our souls?
