Dave and Wayne discuss the  2016 Saturn Awards  nominees, and as usual, have their share of disagreement. The episode pays homage to  The Wizard of Oz  as Bo's dream state parallels real time while the team figures out how to snap her back into the real world. Dyson continues to mourn Trick's death, and the reading of the Ash's will helps to assuage some of the guilt each feels.

Looking for her mother, Bo finds Aife drinking a before dinner glass of wine with her apron sporting, dinner preparing father Hades. Convinced at first that her father's to blame for her mother's psychological problems, Bo sets off to confront him. But when the Lord of the Underworld informs her that it was actually her grandfather Trick, the episode is thrown into a chaos that ends with two dead...

Is it better to have loved and lost? Lauren, Bo, Tamsin, and Dyson each must deal with the painful emotions associated with having ones heart broken. This close to the end we still don't know Hades' end game, and we're introduced to yet another god. And he's the ugly one?

Through a series of flashbacks, we're introduced to Tamsin's teenaged backstory at Valkyrie school under the tutelage of Freya and later Acacia. The plan to return Hades to Tartarus is complicated by the fact that his desire to assemble an army is now out in the open. Will Tamsin lead the armies of Hell? What is Jack really up to? Will Dr. Lewis eventually be able to return Evony to her greatness...

The effects of Lauren's science experiment come to light, but the implications remain clouded as we await the fae colony reaction. Alicia discovers Dyson's secret, and Kenzie returns to help Bo acquire a painting needed to send Hades back to Tartarus. 

Having released her father Hades from the music box, Bo must now work with him as the fae try to prevent Zeus from carrying out his end-of-the-world scenario. Moral and ethical decisions abound in this episode as Dyson must decide how to tell Alicia the truth about her husband, while Lauren's latest lab project presents far reaching consequences.     

We return to White and the breeding cult as his son undergoes a test to find out whether he's worthy of the program. Feeling directionless and questioning his own self worth, Sketch obtains a job as a free-lance journalist for one of the local tabloid newspapers. Wayne gives us a short list of cliches and tropes used in this episode.

Tracy Ryan  (Petaline in  Firefly's "Heart of Gold")  guest stars as a former Manticore SYOPS agent who's simply trying to get her mob accountant boyfriend to leave the life and run away with her. Having decided to repair her damaged social life, Max goes clubbing with Original Cindy, but the experience takes a detour as a transgenic led group of "Lost Boys and Girls" runs roughshod over the patrons wreaking havoc as they go. Max ends up in the hands of the CDC after she takes a bullet to the gut in what began as a simple attempt to gas for motorcycle. Dr. Sam Carr ( Brian Markinson ) comes to Max's aid, but it's too little too late as Ames White interrupts his golf practice after learning that a barcode kid has been admitted to the hospital. In the end Max returns home, but her file has found its way to DC.

Wayne brings together the disparate forces that are zombie television and ice hockey film. When fisherman dredge up the body of what appears to be a mermaid, they're stunned to see she's still alive. Of course, it turns out to be another member of the Manticore transgenic family on the run after the fire. Max and Alec come to the rescue but not before Logan has a scare they think is related to the virus Max has implanted in her.

After having his organs harvested, (Max has his heart), Zach resurfaces as part of a Steelhead gang intent on siphoning off the nanocytes designed to repair damage to his body. Only a shell of himself, Zach slowly begins making connections as the memories he's able to access begin to make sense. In the 2005 film Malcolm Reynolds and the crew try to carry out simple payroll heist, but the Alliance continues to pursue River Tam and disrupts their latest payday. We just want to touch base with you guys to let you know why there's no new show this week, and to keep you up to date regarding where we're headed.  The Leftovers  season 2 premiere; wow.  Damon Lindelof's  fingerprints all over it.

In the series ending episode, River Tam agonizes over the crew's reactions towards her as she comes to terms with her new home and new family. Counterpointed against the bounty hunter Jubal Early who also tries to find meaning in the world, River's intense reactions to the feelings of the crew eventually allow her to find some sense of normalcy.

Doctor Who returns for Series 9 with a dark tale that finds Capaldi's doctor facing the consequences of a fateful decision he made many years in the past. The Doctor, Missy, and Clara all end up on Skaro as Davros forces The Doctor to reconsider the decision to leave a child to fend for himself in the middle of a battlefield.

Serenity's crew ventures to a distant moon to aid an old friend of Inara's who's now running her own brothel outside the arm of the Alliance. But things don't go smoothly for Nandi and her girls. However, the relationship, such as it is, between Mal and Inara comes to a head as she announces her intention to leave Serenity.
