Today we begin looking at the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus begins the teaching by saying "blessed are..." but the words that Jesus spoke might mean something slightly different than our English speaking ears assume. Lets look at the beginning of the Beatitudes and the people Jesus says are "well off."

This week we look at the central message of Jesus as he starts his ministry. The Bible says that Jesus announced the Kingdom of Heaven. What does that mean for us? This week we learn about Ascension Sunday and the significance of Jesus Ascending into heaven after the Resurrection. Jesus fulfilled generations of promises. This week we look at Genesis 18:1-18 and the story of Abraham's 3 visitors. We've been talking about Loving Neighbors, but what about people that are hard to love? Do we need to love them too?   This week we note how the culture treats people that are hard to love and we see how Jesus encourages us to respond differently.    Luke 6:27-36

This week we look at the story of the Good Samaritan. It is a well known story, but there are still important lessons for us today. This Sunday we start a new topic of teaching. Jesus is asked what the "Greatest Commandment" is and answers with "Love God, Love your neighbor." But the story has some other interesting twists. Give it a listen to see how this conversation between Jesus and a teacher of the law plays out. 

It's Easter! Christ is Risen! This Sunday we are encouraged to seek the New Life that Jesus offers us. Often there is a death or loss that must come first, but the New Life that comes after is full of opportunities for God to be at work.

Join us for this Palm Sunday message as we celebrate Jesus entering Jerusalem as King, and are challenged by the expectations that others placed on who Jesus was and what they expected him to do.

This week we welcome Eric Sipes as our guest preacher. Eric reminds us of the importance of sharing our faith, and doing so in a way that connects with the lives and experiences of others.

This week we take one last concentrated look at prayer before we focus on the leadup to Easter. Jesus gives us some extraordinary directions about prayer, but we know that prayer isn't always so easy. Today we look at this teaching from Jesus about prayer from the gospel of John. 

This week we welcome Tom Slater as guest preacher. Tom weaves together the great stories from the Bible of God working small details to have big impacts over time with stories from his own life of God moving and directing events that come to fruition years down the road.  

Last Sunday we acknowledged that are culture is full of cynicism, pessimism, and distrust of others. We talked about how that can bleed into our relationship with God. This Sunday we look at how Jesus sends his disciples out into the world, confirming that it will be harsh, but God will be with them.    

This week we look at Genesis 3, where we see from the very beginning how Satan tries to put a wedge between us and God. Currently this is most visible in our culture through cynicism, the belief that everyone is acting purely out of selfish or malicious motives. We are back into the topic of prayer. This week we are encouraged to admit we are helpless in many parts of our lives. Like children, there are a lot of things we cannot control, instead of fixating on the things we can or cannot do, we are encouraged to take our concerns and present situation to God.  From John 5:1-14

This week we take a brief pause from learning about prayer to hear from our guest, Scott Ball. Scott spent the weekend with us helping us to plan and envision what God has in store for our Church's future. You can look forward to hearing more about that event in the coming weeks.  Scott's Message comes from Nehemiah chapter 2 and the efforts to rebuild the destroyed wall of Jerusalem. 

This Sunday we being an exploration on prayer.  Pastor Jacob begins by looking at the idea that when we pray we are experiencing a part of the Kingdom of God. On this last Sunday of Advent, we learn about how God works through ordinary people. We look at King David and Mary and how society would not have picked them to be leaders or to make a difference, and yet God chose them to work through.  1 Sam 16:6-13 Luke 1:26-38, 46-48  

This Sunday we talk about the building anticipation we have as Christmas draws near. Our culture likes to harness human desires to sell us things, but God answers our deep human needs through Jesus. We see in the life of Mary and John the Baptizer that the early hints of God's movement have begun. What do we imagine the future looks like from here? 

We anticipate the coming of Jesus, in our world and into our lives. As we seek Jesus and ask for the Presence of God to be more fully known, what posture should we adopt? How should we prepare our hearts and minds? Return, Repent, Rededicate  Isaiah 40:1-11 Mark 1:1-8
