Have you ever been to a Christian wedding service and heard 1 Corinthians chapter 13 read aloud? Most of us have. Pastor Jon unpacks how the context for that chapter within Paul's larger explanation of spiritual gifts.  

Have you ever wondered why the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus at his baptism? Pastor Jon looks at how Jesus was led by the Spirit through his earthly ministry, and how he is a model for our service to the kingdom of God. 

We all like to spend time with the people who get us, who are most like us. Pastor Sam looks at how we, as Christians, need to live our life outside our comfort zone to spread the Good News of the hope and love of Jesus Christ.

Who were the three wise men that visited Jesus? What was that star they were following? When did they actually get there and what did they do then? Pastor Jon looks at their journey and, more importantly, their destination in the Christmas story.

What makes Christmas special for you? Pastor Jon uses the prophecies of Isaiah and Daniel to explore how Christ's coming established something precious and unique on earth, something in which we can have eternal hope.

Alpha is an incredible evangelism tool that Sanctus uses for witnessing to both young and old alike. This week, Pastors Jon and Robin tell us more about updates to the Alpha program as well as the upcoming Alpha sessions at Sanctus Church.

What places, things, and promises do you maintain? Pastor Sam looks at altars, idols, and covenants and how they impact the growth of your personal walk with Jesus. 

Do you hold grudges, or have you known someone who can maintain their anger towards others no matter what? God's not like that; He's so much better! Pastor Ange explores God's justice and mercy through the Israelite's victory over Ai after they repented and turned back to God.

What we say, do, and think are the result of what we think are the most important things in life. Pastor Lucas uses the story of Achan's sin to exhort the church to turn back to God and live holy lives so that they can walk in God's blessing though this hinge moment at our church. 

Waiting and trusting are two things that most people find very challenging to do, but they can lead to very good things when you are waiting on and trusting in the Lord. Pastor Jon steps through the Israelites finally entering the Promised Land. Once there, God removed the people's shame, lifted their eyes to see the victory prepared for them, and led them for his glory.

When we step out in faith, we do so without knowing the rewards or consequences. Pastor Jon looks at Joshua's instructions to the Israelite's that required absolute dependence on the Lord to see them cross the Jordan river into the land the Lord had promised them.

There isn't one of us who doesn't have a skeleton in our closet, or worse, a lifetime of disobedience and rebellion. Pastor Jon brings a message of hope symbolized by the red cord that Rahab hung out her window in an act of faith -- a small yet momentous act that meant that she was personally included in the incredible story of redemption through Jesus Christ. 

There are moments of anticipation that we can use to prepare for what's coming next. Pastor Jon looks at the beginning of Joshua's leadership of the Israelites to illustrate how Sanctus is to prepare to step into our next hinge moment.  

People face fear constantly in our daily lives. Pastor Jon looks in Numbers 13 & 14 at the  reports of the Israelite spies to explore how we can avoid fear keeping us from the  promises of God. 

We continue our Fall 2024 vision Sunday series with a look at the dimensions of Christian life through which we grow in our relationship with Christ.

Building on last week's description of our current time as a hinge moment for Sanctus Church, Pastor Jon furthers the illustration to explore how we need to trust Jesus to use us as He wills.

Have you ever looked back over your life to pinpoint the one small change in the flow of your experiences that was the beginning of your current circumstances? This week, Pastor Sam uses the parable of the mustard seed to expose how small acts of obedience to Christ can multiply the kingdom beyond any measure you could possibly anticipate. 

We listen to others all the time but how often do we realize later that we never really heard? Pastor Ange takes us through the parable of The Sower and uses it to guide us in examining if we are listening intently to God and learning to hear His voice. 

In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus paints a picture of a final judgment where the Son of Man separates people into two groups — like a shepherd separates sheep from goats.

How easily do we see the problems in the behaviour of others, as opposed to the behaviours of our own that are sinful. Pastor Robin looks at the parable of the arrogant pharisee and the humble tax collector to examine how we should approach the most high and holy God with humility in prayer.

Pastor Angela walks us through the parable of the unmerciful servant to expose how Jesus wants us to treat others with forgiveness and mercy because Jesus has blessed us with His abundant mercy when we least deserved it. 

What expectations do you have when you pray? Guest Pastor Laurie Hartshorn uses the parable of the grumpy neighbour to explore how un-grumpy God is when we come to Him with all our needs, and how He wants to give us what we need most.
