David was called by God and anointed to be the next king prior to his defeat over Goliath. When God placed a call on David's life, he called him for a life of purpose. David's purpose was not just to defeat Goliath. God had much more in store for him. This sermon is the first in a 3 week series that will survey the Life of David.

Easter affects families, particularly the way parents raise their children. Parents' primary responsibility in this life is to point their children to the resurrection of Jesus. Because, without that, nothing else matters.

The resurrection of Jesus is no joke. We're not fooling around. We're talking about a reality. Jesus really rose from the dead. And this changes everything.

When Jesus said, "It is finished" he was not speaking of his death. He was declaring victory over the fact that he had fully accomplished the Father's purpose for sending him: to save the world from its sin.

It's easy to give up in this life. But we don't need to give up. We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. God never gives up ON us. God always gives up FOR us.
