We are here for the “convinced” and the “unconvinced,” the lost, the found, the burned, bored, cynical, spiritual. We invite you, no matter where you are in the process, to RUF. We meet on Wednesdays at 7:30pm in Paris-Yates Chapel.

Often we think of anger as something we should hide or grow out of.  However, David shows us how to bring our anger to the Lord so that we can identify what is good anger, and then it be channeled into loving mercy, doing justice and walking humbly with God.

Guilt is tells us we've done something wrong and then leads us to a place of forgiveness and freedom.  David leads us through the sorrow and joy in Psalm 32

Sadness is God’s gift to us in a tragically broken world.  When expressed it honors the value of what is lost or missing and leads to comfort, truth, acceptance and healing.  David in Psalm 13 leads us in the way to bring our sadness to God.

Through David's prayer, we discover the only stable place for significance and identity.

David is on the run and fleeing for his life.  In the midst of his fear, he prays and offers us a way to trust others and the Lord in the midst of fear.

Psalm 1 wisely reveals there are only two way to live.  The way of righteousness leads to a full and fruitful life, but the way of wickedness leads to an empty and shallow life.

The hero comes down the mountain after teaching about the Kingdom of God and immediately begins demonstrating the Kingdom of God.  Jesus came to right every wrong and push back the fall.  His miracles are also multi-layered and show us our spiritual need the hero.

Jesus continues to describe what life in His Kingdom is like, and its very different from being simply religious and moral.

Jesus begins teaching and describes the kind of society that He is saving people into. It's upside down because it reverses the kingdom of self, but it's the way of life and freedom.

The Apostle Paul encourages the Colossians to now walk in the say way they received Christ.

Paul proclaims the mystery revealed in Christ Jesus.  The presence of God dwells in you by faith.  However, this will be displayed differently than you imagine. 

Colossians (3) - Look At Jesus - 1:15-23 06.02.2020

Whatever false teaching Paul may have been concerned with in the Colossian church, Paul knows the best thing is for people to know Jesus Christ.  He pens an astounding poem about the beauty and sufficiency of Jesus Christ. Thank you Ricky Jones for so much of the information and application and illustrations of this sermon. 

Colossians (2) - Knowing God's Will - 1:9-15 30.01.2020

Paul prays for the Colossians be filled with the knowledge of God's will.  The knowledge of God and His Will produces a beautiful life.  

Colossians (1) - No More Proving Yourself - 1:1-8 23.01.2020

The Apostle Paul begins his letter to the Colossians church with a prayer of thanksgiving.  Within that pray we see the marks of being in Christ.  * Much Thanks To Ricky Jones for insights on this sermon, especially the introductory illustration and introduction which were stolen from him. 

Relatable (13) - Relationship With Other - Enemies - Romans 12:9-21 21.11.2019

A relationship with an enemy is usually a relationship we don't want in our lives.  However, Jesus and the way He brings salvation to the world ends up creating a new ethic that is upside down.  Jesus calls His people to love their enemies.
