David gives us a general Psalm to show us how to exercise the discipline of blessing and remembering no matter the situation or feeling.

We are created for joy.  The Triune God wants to share His joy with us! 

Intern Ben Milam walks us through the feeling of doubt and how Asaph through Psalm 73 is our guide.  

Shame that icky feeling we all have of not wanting to be seen.  However, David shows us how through our shame we find healing through connection with the Lord and others.   Thank you to Ricky Jones, Reid Jones, and Brenee Brown

Often we think of anger as something we should hide or grow out of.  However, David shows us how to bring our anger to the Lord so that we can identify what is good anger, and then it be channeled into loving mercy, doing justice and walking humbly with God.  

Guilt is tells us we've done something wrong and then leads us to a place of forgiveness and freedom.  David leads us through the sorrow and joy in Psalm 32

Sadness is God’s gift to us in a tragically broken world.  When expressed it honors the value of what is lost or missing and leads to comfort, truth, acceptance and healing.  David in Psalm 13 leads us in the way to bring our sadness to God. 

Through David's prayer, we discover the only stable place for significance and identity.  

David is on the run and fleeing for his life.  In the midst of his fear, he prays and offers us a way to trust others and the Lord in the midst of fear. 

Psalm 1 wisely reveals there are only two way to live.  The way of righteousness leads to a full and fruitful life, but the way of wickedness leads to an empty and shallow life.  

Jesus came on a mission to save the lost and redeem all of creation.  He invites others to follow Him on this mission.  Thank you Ricky Jones for much of the help on this

Jesus brings deep liberation by forgiveness, but different factions of people resist His work.  Thank you especially Ricky Jones for some of this

The hero comes down the mountain after teaching about the Kingdom of God and immediately begins demonstrating the Kingdom of God.  Jesus came to right every wrong and push back the fall.  His miracles are also multi-layered and show us our spiritual need the hero.

Jesus continues to describe what life in His Kingdom is like, and its very different from being simply religious and moral.  

Intern Ben Milam!! walks us through Matthew 6 and shows the work of Jesus makes God our Father.  Therefore, walking in Jesus kingdom with God as your Father starts addressing anxiety at its root.

Jesus begins teaching and describes the kind of society that He is saving people into. It's upside down because it reverses the kingdom of self, but it's the way of life and freedom.  

The Hero Jesus is ready to begin his public ministry.  John the Baptist is preparing the way and shows us how to prepare to meet Jesus.  Big thanks to Ricky Jones for help on this. 

When Jesus arrives, we not only learn about Him, but we learn about ourselves through the hearts response. 

Matthew introduces us to the hero of the Scriptures and of the whole world with a genealogy and his birth story. But these events show us what kind of hero Jesus is.  

The Apostle Paul encourages the Colossians to now walk in the say way they received Christ.  

Paul proclaims the mystery revealed in Christ Jesus.  The presence of God dwells in you by faith.  However, this will be displayed differently than you imagine. 

Whatever false teaching Paul may have been concerned with in the Colossian church, Paul knows the best thing is for people to know Jesus Christ.  He pens an astounding poem about the beauty and sufficiency of Jesus Christ. Paul prays for the Colossians be filled with the knowledge of God's will.  The knowledge of God and His Will produces a beautiful life.  

The Apostle Paul begins his letter to the Colossians church with a prayer of thanksgiving.  Within that pray we see the marks of being in Christ.  * Much Thanks To Ricky Jones for insights on this sermon, especially the introductory illustration and introduction which were stolen from him. 

A relationship with an enemy is usually a relationship we don't want in our lives.  However, Jesus and the way He brings salvation to the world ends up creating a new ethic that is upside down.  Jesus calls His people to love their enemies.
