To be a church that truly reflects the heart of God is to be a church that takes heat, especially from other Christians.  Because Jesus wasn’t crucified for fitting into people’s expectations. As a whole, though, the Messiah was expected to be political, nationalistic, and militaristic.  This was the mold…. The cross wasn’t what anyone expected.  But it was exactly what the world needed. Pastor Austin continues the “Criticizing Jesus” sermon series with a look at how we want a different Jesus than who we need. 

This week, Pastor Austin continues his series, Criticizing Jesus. He examines Jesus' divinity and how we can question it today. 

Jesus didn’t come to break God’s rules (law), but he is more than willing to break yours. He came to tear down every barrier we built on top of his law that needlessly separates people from God and the love of his Church. 

Grace isn’t fair and that’s the beauty of it. By grace, God gives us what we don’t deserve and withholds what we do. This Sunday, Pastor Austin is kicking off a brand-new sermon series: “Criticizing Jesus.” Together we’ll explore the criticisms people had of Jesus and the ones we sometimes find ourselves wrestling with too. 

This morning Pastor Austin concludes the sermon series “Soul Care” with his sermon on repentance. Repentance restores what sin broke…repentance isn’t just something we do when we feel guilty, it is what we are supposed to do as we live our lives.

This week Pastor Austin gives a message on letting out our pain and lamenting. 

Pastor Lindsey preached about the intentionality of praise. Because Praise Requires Intentionality. David is telling his soul to praise. He’s not just swept up in an emotional high or caught up in a whirlwind of energy and excitement. He’s making a choice. It’s like he’s saying, “Hey, soul - get in line. This is what we’re doing."

This week Pastor Austin started a new series entitled: Soul Care. Self-care often considers spiritual health a lifestyle add-on, but the soul isn’t an accessory; it’s at the core of who you are.
