Plans to by-pass the village of Knockcroghery have been put on hold for the medium to long term and that decision has angered and frustrated locals. The issues was discussed at a recent meeting of Roscommon Municipal District. Local Councillor Donal Kilduff spoke to Seamus Duke on the Good Morning Roscommon programme about the feeling in the local community.

The community in Creggs held a meeting recently at which several issues were discussed in terms of the future development of the village including a sewerage scheme, the development of walkways and cycleways and other issues. The Garda Siochana are celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2022 and one of the people credited with the modernisation of the force over the past 35 years is Jack Marrinan. Tim Doyle has written a book about the role Jack Marrinan has played in the formation of the modern Garda force called The Changing of the Guard.
