A new organisation called The Farmers Alliance was established following a very well attended public meeting held in Athlone last Sunday. Seamus Duke has been talking to one of the organisers George O'Malley about what happened on the day and what the future plans of the organisation are.

The Lough Ree Access For All project won a national award at the annual LAMA Conference at the weekend while the community in Athleague were shortlisted for an award too. Local councillor Larry Fallon was at the Conference and he has been speaking to Seamus Duke.

This week it's part three of our look at the historical buildings around the town of Roscommon.  Here's Gerry Shannon.

 Roscommon Town girl Olivia Costello last week beat a world class field to take the Scottish Girls Open Championship. The 15 year old Roscommon girl returned to Roscommon Golf Club on Saturday where the local members welcomed her home after her triumph. There is rising excitement in Roscommon and Galway ahead of Sunday's Connacht SFC semi-final between the two counties at Dr Hyde Park. Seamus Duke has been talking to John O'Mahony who managed Galway to win two Al\l Ireland titles in 1998 and 2001 about Sunday's match.
